1st two stanzas... I have to redo the intro to accommodate the change in style, but my hand's all crampy right now, and I'd really like some feedback on what I've got.

seems like every time I try to tackle something big like this I'm reminded how much of a novice I really am at this stuff. (especially when there are so many incredibly talented people here *cough*Marielv*cough*)
