One of the many celebrities to grace the REC room here at Sundance was the actor David Hyde Pierce, who recorded a wonderful reading of Shakespeare's "Sonnet #29." I'd like to take the opportunity to expand the great work he's given us and add some more layers and textures of sound. Maybe some visuals, too. However, this record strikes me as very visceral in the aural sense at this point, so that's where my mind is directed.

Before I start talking, of course I'm open to all things. These are just ideas that come to mind.

I'm most interested in vocal layering, putting many voices on this. Some kind of score would be lovely as well. There are many avenues we can pursue with this collaboration. Let's explore all of them.

But most of all, let's make this fabulous.

Sonnet #29
When, in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries
And look upon myself and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.
