the bean sprout

The bean sprout

The bean sprout was full of doubt.

Waiting for the sun to come out.

Another plant came out of the land .

And asked the bean sprout for a hand.

“I always help, if I can.”

“well, thank you little man.”

The bean sprout pulled the new plant up out of the ground.

But the new plant grew tall and didn’t stick around.

Another plant said, “I need your help.”

The bean sprout was happy and proud he felt.

He was useful to all the other sprouts,

He helped them, and they immediately shot out.

But the bean sprout found himself still close to the dirt.

Everyone had grown so tall, but he felt so alone and so hurt.

The tall plants smiled and basked in the sun.

The bean sprout also wanted to have fun.

He cried from the ground, “hey guys remember me?”

But they couldn’t hear him, they were too full of glee.

The bean sprout wanted, so bad, to partake in the amazement and wonder,

Of the tall plants and the sun they were under,

Suddenly there came a rumbling thunder..

The lawn mowing monster machine had come hither to plunder…

From above, the bean sprout heard screaming and cries,

Down came  flowers And he could once again see the plants eye to eye,

The lawn mowing monster machine had cut off all of the plants' faces.

And they learned the hard way that we all have our places.

So the bean sprout no longer had any doubt, or regret.

Because he realized that what you give is more important than what you get.
