Rhythms

I've always been fascinated by and appreciative of rhythms and since becoming pregnant and feeling how the baby reacts to rhythms (when I tap dance, when I play her music w/ strong drum beats, etc.) it's just piqued my curiousity even more. Unborn and newborn babies gravitate rhythms that mimic mom's heart-beat. Is that why every culture, world-wide has some form of rhythmic music? Are we trying to replicate heart-beats? Is it something about the repetative nature of rhythms? I have no idea, but I'd love to explore the idea more:)

This is one of those "organic" collabs where we'll see where it goes. Maybe into a song? Poem? Video? i dunno.

No not, my heartbeat. My baby's. From inside me. I still can't quite wrap my head around the fact that I have two hearts beating within me. Patterns and repetition....
