Hey all! This is Seth. I am the technical everyman and Nathans right-hand man on this score project. Let me start by saying that it is super fun to be involved in this project and with the hitrecord crew, both here in Park City, and all you folks out there everywhere. SO... This will be long, but quite important so please read it all. Beeing a score, we are going to work this a little different then how this has been done in the past with hitrecord. Primarily, we are going to be VERY specific about what we want. We have specific ideas we are looking for, as you will hear in these uploads. So lets dig in. First, when you record, most of the track has click to it, please use that for most of what you do. Also remember to note with time stamps or send files that are the whole length of the score (vital if you do not use the click version), so that your parts are placed where you play them. Next, have fun. You are going to have to play these by ear, we do not have sheet music for them. The parts you are hearing are a very good guide of what we are looking for as parts. When in doubt play what you hear. Here are the specific things we are looking for in the score. We need some strings, Cello and Viola are priority as we have some brand new hitrecord'ers coming in tomorrow to play violin and upright bass! However, if that is your instrument feel free to jump in. The bass will run throughout the project and follow the bass line you hear in the guitar. We need some pitz string parts in a few specific spots, in the first scene with Morgan, when he is narsising himself is the first. Any time you hear that theme repeated, play pitz parts! Next, as Morgan enters the restaurant, the strings need to swell and feel as though we are sweeping to the table. Then as Destiny enters we need the strings to wrap around her, make her fantastic! As the strain of the "baby bunny" scene enters as the music becomes dark, bring a long slow swell to the theme. Feel free to even bring drones or disonance to the latter part of the scene. Also a special swell or flourish as the "food penguin" reveals the body of the baby bunny. You will be hearing a main theme throughout the score in the melody, we want the strings to very much carry that theme as the couple leave the restaurant. This last one is funny! We need some crashing. Cymbols, tympany are good, but trashcans are great too! Bang on a filing cabinet and send it in. These do NOT need to be on click and we do not need the whole score worth. But a few good hits are great. Also, sorry for the spelling... Like I said, Have fun! Seth |
