When I was five boys were nothing more than boogers. Unobtrusive, unimportant blots in life.

When I was ten boys were tugging my 'tails and driving me mad. Clearly I was more mature.

When I was fifteen boys were funny and knee-quaking. I was still barely more than a booger to them.

When I was twenty boys were infuriating, even while temping. I'M UP HERE!

When I was twenty-five boys were finally smartening up. They noticed the important things.

When I was thirty boys were no longer boys, but men. My man.

When I was forty boys were my children. My man was grown up.

Now I am sixty and my man is a boy once more. Holding his hand still makes my heart melt.
