I know this is a delayed reaction but college is a bitch. :) Ok so when I was little my dad use to read to me and my brothers and sisters. He would read mostly Grimm fairy tales and Greek mythology. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting around the fireplace listening to all these stories and because of this, my father instilled in me a great love of mythology. So for this collaboration I thought that away to begin the story is a young girl or boy (or both) is/ are sitting by the hearth listening to their father read a story and as they slowly drift of the images of what the father is reading begin to play as their dreams. (I realize this is not the most original of ideas) Orpheus has always been one of my favorite Greek myths; most of the Greek myths lend themselves well to being incorporated into others. For example while Orpheus is in the underworld he could run in to Persephone (Demeter and Persephone is my favorite myth). I figured I would add my two cents! |
