I promissed/made a resolution that I would hop on the great and revolutionary train that is the RE-REC album makers this year. I also promissed that in every weekly album I made I would include 6 different records that I felt were special enough to me that I RE-RECommend them to the RECording public. Well, I staying on that train for a good 4 weeks straight before I became too distracted to continue with this RE-REC quest.

Well HitRECord I’ve been feeling terrible for the past several weeks about the demise of my New Years resolution and promise to myself that I would continue on making RE-REC albums each week. And tonight is the final straw, the boss-man (Joe) has made a video requesting we simple RECorders continue on with this quest that so many of us like myself have seemed to forget. With that request I have come to the conclusion that I should not only begin again today with my RE-REC albums, but also make up for lost time and make up those weeks that I forgot to make an album for.

If I follow my New Years resolution 'rules' for making a RE-REC album that puts me at having to RE-RECommend 54 individual RECords to make up for this lost time. So 54 RECords that need to be RECommended. So here are my 54 RE-RECs:

Such a simple, yet equally exciting bit of booping going on here. I’d love to see more sounds and beats added to this little RECord!

I felt like I’d been strapped to an RC car when I watched this video for the first time. More RECords like this with sped up journeys on road or wherever could be neat to cut together.

A lovely silhouette of leaves, I bet this could be great for photo remixes!

Such a unique photo, I love the entire setup, especially the contrast.

1. Shadows On My Wall v2 by Soupy

Love love love this little design, how cool would it be to have posters of this? It’s almost like a promotional poster to me, so awesome.

An adorable RECord with two of my most favorite RECorders, crispy and phen please always be bored together, for great RECords like this can only come from it!

1. LongRay Palace by Maria011

One of my favorite things that has come with the Shadow Beings Collab, is the idea of where the shadow beings live. One of the most recent is this beautiful Longray ‘building’. The idea of long arches for Longray buildings is a great one, yet at the same time I feel that perhaps long and exaggerated buildings would also compliment these shadows. Maybe a new illustration could be done using these ideas?

1. Little Red Riding Hood (Ever After) by silentMORPHEME

One of my favorite things to do recently is to think “what happened next?” to some of the most classic tales. SilentMORPHEME did just that with Little Red Riding Hood with a comic twist. Can I get a pair of wolf pants now? They look awful cozy.

A simple but easy to remix record by spencersusser, maybe someone could make it look like this ‘record’ of Joe is being scratched, or maybe add a vinyl sound effect to it? Maybe even swapping out Joe’s head for that of a small HitRECord logo? I think this could be a really neat bumper!

To me this is a beautiful combination of both highly usable stock footage, and a small film in itself. The story it’s trying to tell, though said quiet quietly still is there, for me it’s taking a bit of thinking still as to what that story could be.

Concept art for any of the proposed ‘Not So Tiny Story’ suggestions is a great way to see how we could Remix different stories from their original roots into more of a HitRECord production, and kellyS has done a great job with her art for Pandora’s Box

Soupy has taken up where horrorshock666 has left off with a great, though short, edition of the budding magazine revolving around HitRECord. I really hope to see this idea of making some steps into journalism with our RECords, interviews and articles about RECords and artists grow a bit more. It’s a new and unique kind of creation I really couldn’t imagine existing on HitRECord before this.

This RECord was lovingly shown to me by my friend Phenomenaaa, such a lovely poem I do wish someone could maybe do a VO for it, maybe even animate the image swirling around?

Such an adorable romance these objects can have. Be it scissors or spoons finding love in everyday objects has become a small hobby of mine and I am in love with it. It’s like discovering hidden flames inside something you long thought to be dead, maybe a series of object love could come from these types of RECords, or maybe I’m just insane.

Another great image RECord that I’d love to see new image remixes utilize. So many possibilities to come from this, I can feel it

Jumping off from Alpal’s nostalgia Scarlet has weaved her own lovely tale of childhood memories that I hope can inspire us all to think back to our younger years.

Watching Joe sign these checks is such a beautiful moment because we’re all together experiencing this moment of gratification, and appreciation for the love and support of the art we’ve communally created here.
