Stitchpunk Alice in Wonderland

Granted, between the Disney version, Jan Svankmajer's 1988 version, and Tim Burton's recent film, Alice in Wonderland feels slightly overdone.

But as other hitrecorders have pointed out, it has such a deliciously whimsical feel to it, and it would be exciting to see just how fresh and inventive a hitrecord version would look like.

While I put "stitchpunk" in the title, there are of course other routes to go visually. We could do stitch, steam, clock, or multiple other "punks." (Apparently clockpunk is an actual genre. Who knew?) The red queen could live in a zeppelin, the mad hatter could reside in stitchtown, the woods could be inhabited by various Wirrow characters, and the anglerpod could be our version of the blue caterpillar.

With the length of the story, it could be easiest to narrow our own version down to a sequence of four or five of the most classic moments:

1. Falling down the rabbit's (wirrow's?) hole

2. Talking to the Cheshire cat in the woods (possibly incorporate Marielv's Wooden Wood Red Riding Hood sequence?)

3. Talking with the anglerpod/caterpillar

4. Tea party with the Mad Hatter (in stitchtown?)

5. Red Queen (Morgan M. Morgansen animated characters present?)

Anyway, below are some records that could provide possible inspiration to help construct the aesthetic and atmospheric makeup for our Alice's realm.
