Cameron Smiterz! I try and make people happy with their eyes, hearts, and brainz

What's the origin of your artist name?

My parents fell in love back in the 80’s. Then I started hanging out with them. So they named me after an old friend of my dad’s. Then I decided I liked the ‘Cameron’ character off ‘Modern Family’ so I took his first name.

What has been your biggest challenge with your art so far?

Up until recently it was not having a camera. Then I got one and I haven’t stopped filming since. My biggest challenge would probably be hitting that wall in creativity.

Who or what is your biggest influence?

Music and science are my two biggest inspirations. So, GY!BE, Tom Waits, Radiohead, Beatles, Stephen Hawking, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Dr. Michio Kaku, Captain Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager, etc etc

What is your wildest story?

Almost getting shot but some arrogant police that thought I was robbing a store during a filming of a short.

What is your secret talent?

This is not a talent, but, since I’m so skinny my body doesn’t float. Which means I can’t swim.

Tell me about the last dream you remember having?

It was a nightmare. I overheated my pizza rollz

What are you craving right now?

I need a dog to cuddle. A good puppy cuddle.

What do you like?

Really cute thangs. People. Pictures of kittens. Raindrops on roses. Pickles. Sammiches. Shaving. More cute and adorable things.

What do you dislike?

Negative things. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? Always wear pants in public.

How and why did you start RECording?

About a year and a half ago, I started this online Dallas community of filmmakers. We were to collaborate and junk.

I was on set one day talking about how much I dig Brick and Joe. One of the actresses mentioned that he had a site that does the same thing we were doing. But on a much larger scale.
