Telephone

Let's make a short film showing a series of telephone calls between friends that ends up a bit like a game of "Telephone" (See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_whispers.)
So, the first person phones the second person to share a piece of news, the second person phones the third, the third phones the fourth etc, and the story gets exaggerated and mixed-up as it goes along until the message is completely different & almost unrecognisable from the first person's message.
Let's make a short film about a string of telephone conversations between various friends where the original piece of information is altered and mixed up along the way, like a game of "Telephone".
- First of all, we need to decide on the nugget of information that will be the main content of the conversations. Ideas so far are here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/343830 - please add to the discussion!
- Secondly, we need to write several scripts for the characters. The first person & last people will have a script of a conversation with just one other person, but all the other people in between will have a script with conversations with two people, as they get the message from one & then phone another person to pass it on.
- Thirdly, people who'd like to act in it can choose which characters they like & film that character's scene.
- Fourthly, all the scenes will be cut together.
I was thinking that most people will be able to film themselves quite easily, just in their rooms on their phones having one half of a conversation, then hanging up, dialling a new number and having a second conversation. But if people wanted to do more than that, we could have scenes where someone has bad signal on public transport, or a person is at a party and they can't hear properly over the noise, or maybe a person is half listening while they're playing video games - basically, scenes which will make sure the message gets mixed up good and proper. Possibly even one character could purposefully manipulate the message...
Anyone have any ideas with the starting question - what could they be talking about? Please add a comment or start a text RECord with your idea in! :)
