RE-REC's for 01-09-11
Stick to my New Years Resoultion still, lets hope I can keep up with it!
Train Now Leaving by Tori
I remember seeing this for the first time while watching one of the Summer in the City show’s in my bedroom late at night and loved it then, and not much now has changed my feelings toward this record. The more I watch this record the more I pick up on that I might have missed before. This is truly one of the ‘classic’ records that every HitRECorder should see at least once.
The Party (How They Met) by Pheneomenaaa
I had the great fortune of meeting the aboso-fan-tastic Phenomenaaa this year and was graced with the gift of several stories she wrote as a Christmas present. This was one of the stories included present. As I’ve said earlier somewhere (I believe my last RE-REC’s perhaps?) the best way to read anything, especially Phen’s works is to read them out loud. As I read this out loud the words seemed to jump off the page and I could taste every emotion in my mouth from the bitterness to the sweet emotion found at the end. Read it, you won’t be sorry you did.
When we were kids by fraeulein
Home movies are beyond precious to me. I don’t care how many times I see candid shots of anyone they will ALWAYS bring tears to my eyes. It’s just the innocence we had when we were kids almost chokes me when I watch these home movies. Fraeulein’s childhood super8 films are chock full of adorable childhood moments that in my opinion remind us how sometimes even if it’s hard to, it’s important to look back on where we came from. Be it in childhood or in our past in general.
DVD Credits by Marke
These right here, these gave me the chills of excitement so bad. Marke’s credits for the DVD solidified in my mind that this DVD is real, that we’re a production company that MAKES THING. That makes amazing collaborative works and that we’re all a part of something. Here’s hoping I see your name scrolling up my TV screen when I get this incredible piece of art.
A peek through the gate ( remix ) by elayne
I really can’t find words to describe how much I am in LOVE with this amazing photo remix record. Everything about it just works. Now all we need is a story to go along with it!
Monitors On Spaceship by Mariev
Mariev as always kicks another killer animation record out of the park with what is now part of some of the coolest remixes using monitors. The robot, the sounds, everything about the record is perfect. I can see this being both a standalone piece and also a HitRECord bumper. This has got to be on the DVD. Period.
