Thank you all - your responses made me cry. It's so kind of all of you to wish me well. And I appreciate it so much. People close to me are still in a place where they won't talk about the reality of the diagnosis, so I've been feeling very alone. And I am sad - more than I can say - to have to leave hitrecord. But I actually was diagnosed within a couple of days of Dan's death, so I have had time to take stock of what I want to leave behind if there turns out to be time for only one more major creation in my life and it has to be my books.
But I am seeing a leading genetics researcher in February so maybe I'll keep outlasting the odds.
I'm gonna post one more thing right now because I am shocked and amazed that there are two of us on HR with this disease AND WE BOTH PAINTED THE SAME CREATURE!!!

Thank you all... even just the hearts warm my heart if you don't know what to say. This is truly a wonderful place and I hope that I will be able to finish my novels and rejoin you all. But check out the creature feature I'm about to post.
