“My name is Gory…. And I am a Doctor.
I heal disparate components by implementing a coalesce procedure known here as remixing.
My aspiration in using this procedure is harmony.”

What's the origin of your artist name?

“My name is Gory…. And I am a Doctor.”

What has been your biggest challenge with your art so far?

“Who the hell is talking about art? I have never been able to recognize what I do as ‘art’!”

Who or what is your biggest influence?

“There are many more famous Doctors in which I can refer you to… but they won’t tell you anything that you haven’t heard before. Instead, I have found that my closest companions have a harmonic disposition that is incredibly informative, motivational and approachable (just as you can be here). In fact, I attribute all of my knowledge and desire to these companions of mine.”

What is your wildest story?

“Too much (or not enough) wild in my life to find a ‘est’ in there. I concur with Dr. Filmpunk and be happy to tell you over a drink… but let me just say if I had to choose a wild story……. That it probably involved multiple stethoscopes, one thermometer and my favorite patient. I was completely compromised… but then again… so was she.”

What is the last book you read?

“ ‘I Sing The Body Electric’ by Ray Bradbury.
I am never not reading that book.”

If you could be any character in fiction, who would you be?

“No one you would know….

No seriously you probably don’t know him.
His name is Bean from these books by Orson Scott Card.”

What couldn’t you live without?

“My stethoscope. It enables me to hear things that I am incapable of hearing without.”

What is your secret talent?

"The ultrasound machine…. I fucking rock that piece of equipment."

Tell me about the last dream you remember having?

“Ever since I was a little Gory I dreamt of becoming a Doctor, now that I am a Doctor I dream of becoming a little Gory.

What are you craving right now?

“I’m craving for these questions to stop already… you expect me to be here all night answering these things? Where’s my flask…. Aaaahhhhh…. that’s better…

How and why did you start RECording?

"One of my brothers had been talking about the site since it started. He told me everything about what it was and what it is becoming…
As I continued with my practice on my own, he one day said to me….

'It’s really powerful because if you want to make something, you don’t need to create it from conception, to pre-production, to production, to post production anymore. You can go to the site with no intention of making something, but may come across a couple RECords that you feel belong together, put them together and depending on how well you do it, you can walk away with your creative senses satisfied.'
