He said:
“Breathe easy, my child, you’ve got the world at your feet” But he knew not of what I have been through – yet – he saw my chest struggle to keep my heart beating. “Breathe easy, my child, you are victorious even know you know the face of defeat” But he knew not of the battles I had fought, nor about how I’d walked away with my head down, tears lining my eyes “Breathe easy, my child, the skies are your limit, and the stars your peers” But he knew not of how I’d failed to fly, for my dream’s wings were not strong enough “Breathe easy, my child, there’s hope yet for you” But he knew not of the stumbles and falls that I’d endured, my knees bloody and scathed “Breathe easy, my child, you are much stronger than your fears” But he knew not of the ways I’d caved and cowered as anxiousness gripped my body “Breathe easy, my child, you’ve yet got minds to change and mountains to move” But he knew not of the ignorant minds that have tried to defy me, nor of the mountains that had crumbled before my very feet He said: “Breathe easy, my child, breathe easy, breathe easy. “You are a warrior, and your heart huge. It struggles to keep beating, but it kept your eyes open to the world when you went through what you’ve been through. “Breathe easy, the battles you have fought have scarred you, but the strongest are the ones that have fought in battles, the strongest are the veterans of their past and present woes, the strongest are the ones with the will to keep going on. “Breathe easy, your dream’s wings may still be in their infant stage, but they shall grow with that spirit of yours, and take you to the moon. Your dreams will soar through the stars, and show you skies so blue. “Breathe easy, your bloody knees are yet the ones that will keep you treading on, they shall take you through a world of opportunity. They shall take you to the course of your ambitions, and keep you strong. “Breathe easy, my child, the darkness shall no longer be at the height of your fears, nor the evil that lurks within it. When the dark veil of woe covers your eyes, know you have the light within your heart to light your journey through and through. “Breathe easy, my child, the mountains have not crumbled at your feet because you have failed, they have crumbled in defeat. Know not of oppression of these intolerable and ignorant minds, know of the will they give you to keep moving on." He said: “Breathe easy now, my child. For now you know doubt’s inseparable lover is faith. And with faith shall you start an affair. Now, breathe easy, my child, and go on your way. For faith in your spirit will erase your despair.” |
