This is an official Voice Over REquest for a new Fake History video I'm working on.
I'm looking for narration contributions of all styles (similar to how "A Fake History of 1987" recently unfolded.) I stress ALL STYLES because the reading that I select will determine the tone and overall look of the video. I'm leaning several different ways on how to approach this from a pre-production standpoint so I open the stage to you, the collaborators, to help determine how I proceed with the video. Let me explain. As of now I foresee the reading being from an anchor (male or female) on a local news channel. Or even a national news channel. Or maybe even public access. Either way, the scope of the project all boils down to the most interesting reading. I plan on building the fake network and surrounding atmosphere after I hear all the submissions. So that's why I'm stressing originality and variety so much. So here are a few directorial notes on the reading: * Think retro. The look and feel of the video probably will end up being 20th century rather than modern day. I'm thinking the best eras to "sound like" would be a news anchor from the '60s, '70s, or '80s. * I don't have any immediate notes on pacing, but variety is key. Try it a bunch of ways, and in a variety of tones and voices, and perhaps I can refine some notes once the contributions start to roll in. * I'd say that satire or sarcasm probably won't work too well with this (just a hunch I have.) The more serious, and deadpan, the better. Or so I'm assuming. * This clip will play right before a commercial break. * I only need audio. If you want to try and do a video as a news anchor, go for it! But you'll have to have news anchor-type clothing and a blank background (preferably a dark color background.) But audio is what I'm mainly looking for here. ************************************************************************************************** "A Fake History of (Fake) Paleontology" ...And coming up we have a special report from Washington, D.C. The story just broke earlier this evening regarding the complete falsification of the field of paleontology. According to a prominent scientist, who wishes to remain anonymous, paleontology has been an ongoing lie for over a century. (Pause for video footage) And, according to the anonymous source, generations of paleontologists have continued to fabricate research and evidence of prehistoric dinosaurs for one reason only: to get laid. More on this story after a word from our sponsor..." |
