Walking alongside my shadow,
conversing with my thoughts

The wind blows,
a gentle caress across my cheek

Listen to the murmur of the leaves as they float to the earth,
the creak of the trees as they stretch stiffened muscles

The earth breathes a heavy sigh
Wizened lungs wheezing cooler breezes
A solemn whisper provides company to the fallen foliage

Listen to the leaves as they converse with one another
carrying the message on the tides of the wind
