we are hitRECord - a mosaicJoe (first attempt)
ok, that's as always quite a lot of text (more below, sorry)....let me just say one thing....please forgive me that I will NOT add any resources to this record. I hope you can understand that ;-)
Ava_CP suggested creating an image made up of many small images. well I read her suggestion and downloaded all the previews of the image records (as of 8 Jan, 1pm CET - don't worry I didn't do that manually but wrote a small script doing this) and let them run through a program which makes so-called mosaic images. unfortunately the image got quite big (~ 200 mb, but it's high quality....really, high definition high standard high quality ;-) you can zoom in and look at all the different records which are still in very very good quality :-)....anyway :-)) so I created a smaller version of it. if someone is interested I could upload the big version but I'll have to do that overnight ;-)
something different I could do is upload a zip-file with the 2834 preview images (~ 65 mb) so you can have a try yourself with one of the mosaic programs. there are many options you can change, e.g. make the images smaller or change their shape or the background, etc. or you could stop in the middle of the process so you get an unfinished mosaic which looks pretty cool in my opinion (I actually like the unfinished ones more than the finished ones like this here)...maybe suggesting that hitrecord(ing) will never have an end ;-)? to make it short: it's only a matter of choosing some parameters and stop at a good moment to get a good image, so why not have a try :-)
I used the program MacOSaiX (http://homepage.mac.com/knarf/MacOSaiX/) but I should warn you that it could take quite some time to get results, so you might want to let it run overnight (by the way and this is a must if you don't want to get mad because the program crashes: in the preferences choose to automatically save every 10 minutes or so :-))
I choose not to add any text or anything else, so feel free to change whatever you want
