I thought since we have alot of new Hitrecorders, it might be helpful to show them how to release a record on V4. Hope you find it useful!

Welcome to Hitrecord! I'm glad to hear it was helpful to you! I did this before there were any help records on here. The site has since put together a bunch of help records which can be accessed from the little envelope looking tab in the upper right corner.

Okay - I probably got a little too excited when I followed the directions for how to leave a comment and it worked just like it was supposed to and BOOM! There was my post! I was (okay, and still am) quite pleased with myself, thank you very much! LOL! I am on my way...

Thank you so much! I am brand new here - just heard about this project and just signed up an hour ago. I'm sure the veterans of the previous program made the switch easily, but us newbies appreciate the step by step tutorial. :)

    Thanks, @rjdpa!

Joe's working on Help RECords for the slidey-top part for each page... this footage will be super helpful to play for the help RECord on the upload page while he's talking about it...

And I love the idea that help on the new site isn't top-down, but everyone helps each other out with tips, tricks, suggestions, or just flat out explaining the features.

    Rad.

@mushr, Thanks for the info, I knew we could post larger files here, didn't know it was that big though. I'd still rather keep them smaller though, just for the sake of upload, download & encoding times

@rjdpa. I think you can still upload it even if it's that size. I asked Mr Bugmaster about record size, and formatting earlier. This is his response:

RE: Question to Mr Bugmaster or anyone wh...
The Bug Master remarked on 01-07-2010

We support these file formats: .avi .dv .mov .qt .mpg .mpg2 .mpeg2 .mpeg4 .mp4 .3gp .3g2 .asf .wmv .flv.

There is a 500 megabyte file size upload limit.

    ~ I hope this helps.

Thanks everyone! I've gotta figure out this compression though, I have a .mov file that's much better quality, but it's 120mb! How a 2mb wmv turns into a 120mb .mov just baffles me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
