I've got an idea rattling around in my head for a kind of musical ensemble. I'm a composer and I'm used to having the musicians in front of me. I give them music, they rehearse it and perform it. Nice and simple.

I'd love to try something similar here. I write a piece of music and other people here record themselves playing their parts and I mix it together into a cohesive ensemble piece.

First - I just want to know if anyone is interested in participating in something like this.

Second - I need to know what instrument(s) you play and at what skill level. If you have musician friends who are interested, that'd be fantastic!

Third - I plan on posting traditionally notated music. If you can't read music, it doesn't mean you can't contribute, but please let me know. I can send you a MIDI version of your part so you can learn by ear.

When I've got a few instruments available to me, I'll start writing short ensemble pieces and will post them here. Anyone else is free to remix, record those pieces as they please, but I want a clean recording, preferably a few takes, of your instrument's part. When I get all the pieces from everybody, I put it together.
