Hi, my name's Elaine, I go by sfdetroiter 'cause I'm from Detroit but in the San Francisco area for grad school, studying Theological Aesthetics. My particular area of interest is in the aesthetics of decay. Hey, I'm from Detroit!

Anyway, I'm really technologically behind. Mostly 'cause I'm really financially behind... so I won't have much to offer except scraps that hopefully others might use - photos, and words. I'm a poet, and I take pictures point-&-shoot style, but some of them are interesting.

I think this site and project is a wonderful idea. Especially when I have access to a computer that can actually stream video (unlike my sad, old clamshell iBook), I've really been enjoying the work I've seen here so far.
