New York City is filled with more than 8,000,000 individuals and growing. Now that's only New York City, and keep in mind that of course the state of New York has other over-populated areas to consider within its state population. With this, I believe that these Summer In The City Shows were successful at the following:
1. Bringing residents not only from New York City together, but from surrounding cities, East-coast states, and other towns within the state of New York. Its location in a small venue within the Lower East Side made it quite easy for everyone to feel a bit closer to one another. Hell, the 100 person capacity also made us feel a lot closer to Joe. Even for those who were watching online, you were all a bit closer to us all.
2. Providing an opportunity for the busy bees of New York City to laugh, catch a break, and rejoice in collaborative recording. Not to mention, SiTC attendees were able to spread the word to not only portions of the eight million residents in NY, but I bet to several places in the world as well.
3. The "chance encounters" that Joe spoke about during SiTC#2, they happened in that small room. Several of them.
Therefore, this is where all of you SiTC attendees and watchers come in. Capture SiTC in a way that portrays how it united us; how it allowed us to meet one another especially within a city where everyone usually races with the clock. Use clips from the SiTC #1, SiTC#2, and soon to be SiTC#3 collaborations to compose your reactions.
If anyone has any other ideas to bring to the table, that's a-okay. I'm pretty exhausted, so other suggestions floating around in my head will have to wait 'til I'm a bit more unified myself :P
