The Forgotten Doll

a scribble found hidden in an old notebook.

"Look father! A pretty new toy!"

Loved for a day, then cast away.
Put on the shelf for another day.
Gathering dust, and all alone
The life of a doll is never known.

Stumbled upon by father, he asked
"My dear, what's wrong with this here?"

"She's no fun." The child yelled.
"She doesn't talk, she doesn't sing.
All she does is sit and dream."

Father shrugs and says OK.
Left again for another day.
