This is another Slam Poem, specifically designed as a response to Joe wanting Live Acts. This is an example of the sort of slam poetry I come up with and how I like to read poetry. Some minor editing issues, but the audio and text are solid so it's all good.
Enjoy and Cheers.
Lyrics:
So, Joe, This is what I’ve got for you
And all the hitrecorders
From Matt Conley to Lulu-Blue
Do with it what you want to do
I could juggle while I rhyme or sing
I could make a beat that pops
Or write a joke that zings
But the thing that pulls me up
When I’m buried underground
Isn’t absure or terribly profound
I want my voice to be heard
In any manner of ways
I’ve been in dozen of plays
I love being on stage
I love that feeling you get
When you engage the crowd
Or when their louder than louder
I love that ear-splitting silence when you pause
During a performance
People glancing at your stance
Entranced by your words
As if it’s a vis-à-vis conversation
And they’re not part of some herd
I want my voice to be heard
I want to
provide Vocalization
For a live
Hitrecord collaboration
I want everyone to hear “our” song
The throngs gathered
Ready to reword and remix
And pull out of their bag of tricks
Every tool they have
To make something new and beautiful
That will transfix an audience
I want my voice to be heard
So, Joe, This is what I’ve got for you
Do with it what you want to do
You asked, do I want to share a stage with you
Hell Yes
But do you want to share a stage with me too?
