DressityDress VIDEO 4 Dance Around the World
Hi everybody! I just wanted to share a better view of the dress while you're patiently waiting for it, and also to tell you how I view the dress in this project: I see the dress as a metaphoric "skin" - a uniting factor that demonstrates the sameness that inspires all human beings around the world to dance. And I would REALLY LOVE IT if each of you accesorized the dress/optional bustle in your own unique way. And if there's any cultural markers you can throw in there, that would be an awesome way of visually showing that it visited dancers all over the world.
But I must apologize. Life happened. I screwed up the schedule. I apologize VERY sincerely for screwing up the schedule that you all worked so hard on. But Lizzie believes she can get it all back on track. (Yay Lizzie!!!). Like I said, Life happened, and I'm sure that Life will happen as it makes it's way around the world to all of you. And we'll all just do our best to get this project to completion. Hopefully with much more timeliness than I got the original package out.
(I had a mailing mishap and it was returned to me while the first dancer on the list was out of town so Lizzie is being kind enough to get things back on track.)
But in the meantime I wanted you to see what you're patiently waiting for in proper lifelike video :^D
I'm also currently editing a video with instructions of how to use the "elaborate pulley system" I point out here to resize the garment, as well as show you how I'm enclosing some brown Sharpies for people to draw something on the blank fabric and sign their names. Overall I'm not too worried about damage. Life happens. But DO NOT PUT IT IN THE WASHER! More in the next video but basically it's either Febreeze on the INSIDE or a home drycleaning kit in the dryer on air NO HEAT. And if any major catastrophes happen, post a pic and I'll either OK for you to fix it (if you sew) or you can send it back for repairs. But it SHOULD last the journey.
