What's Love? Not gonna lie, I'm not so sure. One way of finding some insights into those hard-to-answer questions? Consult the emergent voice of a collaborative art project. Perhaps none of us individually know what Love means. But perhaps together we do.

RECord what Love means to you.

There's a bit in (500) Days Of Summer where various characters address the camera and tell what Love means to them. The other day, when I was at the San Francisco International Film Festival where the movie was playing, I thought it'd be fun for those waiting in the cinema's line to have a say in the matter. (largely inspired by Michel Gondry's video that he made of people waiting in line to see his screening when he launched michelgondry.com -- where you can buy toilet paper printed with his old sketchbooks)

Then I thought, why don't the hitRECorders RECord what Love means to them too? Seems like a good jump off point. I imagine most of the contributions will be simple, similarly to the 500 Days bit. However, any other kinds of RECords are welcome too. Draw a picture, write a song, play a scene. It could be your own thoughts on Love, or a reRECord interpretation of one of the meanings already RECorded by someone else. I think the results of this one could be some rad RECords.

You know that we take a topic to discuss at our live shows,  Well, we're gonna be talkin' about love at the Fall Formal.  So, how we do it is — we pull together videos and resources to make a mini documentary.  We'll play the mini-doc at the Fall Formal before we open up the discussion to the crowd.

To make the mini doc we need a bunch of resources.  Here's how you can contribute:

  • Tell a story about love — from your personal life, or make something up!

  • Have you ever been broken hearted?  Tell us about it!

  • Editors —start putting together resouces and contribute to the collaboration.

We started this collaboration a while ago — back in 2009!  Lookin' forward to gettin' it goin again!
