Maybe you're reading my favourite book,
I could lean over and check, but I'm too scared to look. You could be nodding your head to my favourite song, I secretly watch you as the train rattles on. You're here every morning, where do you go? There's so much about you that I want to know. Our journeys continue, imagination runs free. What if one day, you said 'hi' to me? We would talk about music and movies and art, I wouldn't be shy; I'd be witty and smart. As the train reached the station, you'd get up to stand, Then turn around, smile and hold our your hand... I suddenly realise that I'm in danger, of missing my stop while I dream of a stranger. I walk past, you glance up - could this be the day? But at the last second I blush and shy away. I can't meet your eyes, but I manage to look, And see that you're reading my favourite book. |
