Here's a bunch more Tiny Stories I'd like to see illustrated...
Here is the footage I RECorded early November 15th, 2011, from around 4am to 8am right after the NYPD raided Zuccotti Park, the original gathering place of Occupy Wall Street in NYC.
Raw footage that I RECorded on the early morning of November 15th, 2011, when the NYPD broke up Occupy Wall Street protests in NYC.

RE: INDEPENDENCE REQUEST VIDEO

|
This is the Intro Video that kicked off our show at Sundance 2012
In honor of our upcoming show at The Sundance Film Festival 2012, I'd like to start making art regarding the theme of Independence. You can record a testimonial of your thoughts regarding this topic but more importantly, you can contribute a short story, an illustration, a song or even make a short film. Anything that regards the idea of Independence.
We will then take these pieces and put them together in a clever, funny, entertainingly way and intersperse them throughout our show while bringing up audience members to share their thoughts.
Independence is the theme that is running throughout our show. Not only because it's the Sundance Film Festival but also because all of the projects that we are working on embody this topic in their own way.
Here are some ideas regarding Independence to think about:
Let's get this conversation started early shall we!
Thanks again,

This is one of the RE: INDEPENDENCE shorts that we played at our show at Sundance 2012
I really liked Gyllenmaya's version of the king. And I loved the story about two different cities battling each other. When I began to read Day Glo's original piece I started to imagine a magical scenery where the people that were reffered in the story were actually bread by nauture. In my mind I was reminded of Warcraft the PC game and Lord of the Rings, but I also loved the concept of turning things a bit more extreme. This is what came out of it.
This is the Midnight King. He's a woodland centaur. The drawing currently lacks wood textures and grassy hair with vines.
I was also thinking that the kind of the other city could be the Daybreak King or whatever, but made out of stone, possibly dragon like too!
--
But yeah, I was just playing with my imagination. Hopefully something like this can be remixed or reused for another collaboration, but I think some elements here could really make Nightsfall a magical tale if it hasn't had it already. I apologize I haven't done too much research as to what everyone else has been doing. I promise to do that soon
listen with headphones!
as soon as i saw/heard this story, i knew i had to write music to go with it. i got stuck for awhile (i had only the first 30 seconds or so written for about a month) but i finally got my creative juices flowing!
fun fact: the melody of the king's midnight song is actually "Dies Irae," a Gregorian chant that's often used in Romantic music to symbolize death. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dlr90NLDp-0 now you can impress your friends with your awesome music knowledge.
i hope you like it, Day Glo!
I wish someone would make visuals to go with this!
So, here you can see three albums. Each album contains characters that can be from one universe, or from one book for example, characters that (in my opinion) have something in common - whether it is a style or idea.
I think it would be very useful to curate such albums, you can collect characters that match certain collabs like Dialogue Tales, for example, or any other involving characters. So that when animators\illustrators will need characters they will be able to find a whole set of them. And also a "family" of characters united in one album can help writers, it can inspire stories.
Here's an album of voiceovers to a bunch of Tiny Stories. Let's make short films out of them!
The video and photo records curated in this album inspire us. They are all great examples of wonderful visual records here on hitRECord. While these records are beautiful records in their own right, they also are invaluable to our community as resources that can be remixed into all kinds of new things.
To help inspire more photographic and video records like these, Sony will be sending the 10 RECorders whose work is featured in this album NEX-5 cameras.
The recipients of these cameras will be CameronSmith, cerebis, djnamelis, IrmaVep, jestferlaffs, marcellepallais, pprescott, SFBakstad, tori, and xobreexo23.
We hope their art inspires you as much as it does us.
Thank you to Sony for recognizing our creative community and providing us with tools to create. <3

Thanks to Krrr for finding this song and all his other audio re-recs this week
This is an album of MONSTER CITY'S MOST WANTED!
We need to find out more about this frightening crew of beastly beings who dwell within the unknown limits of Monster City...
Let's create some REVOLTING REMIXES, SPOOKY STORIES, HAUNTING SONGS, or CHILLING POEMS relating to this unnerving group of monsters.
Perhaps you could write a BIO for one of these characters explaining more about them (like a FIELD GUIDE) so anyone who dares to enter Monster City knows what they're up against.
Or simply contribute any stray monsters you may have to the Monster City Collab.
Let the scares begin!

Here are all the REGULARITY's in one place! It still makes me jaw drop when I see how far we have come since 2009

CALLING ALL WRITERS: Check out Moreldi's bold character entitled "Voyager" here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/843904 & then write an existential cautionary monologue regarding what kind of post-apocalyptic wisdom this character might want to impart upon the viewer. CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS & VIDEO EDITORS: We wanna make this haunting and eerie audio record "Departures" into a SHORT FILM! Let's explore some abstract ways to visually portray the theme of Past vs. Present for this short film.

RE: CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS' CHECKS: I'm so stoked to announce we have a round of checks totaling $40,085.00 heading out to 261 contributing artists for the "Inception" Dream Doc, Spring Collection 2011, and College Tour 2010.
One of our greatest shortcomings as a production company has been distributing payments to our contributing artists. We've been working, re-working and ironing out a new monetization method to automate these payments so they go out in a more timely manner. My sincerest apologies on getting this round of checks out to you guys late. But we're catching up!
==
RE: CONTRIBUTING ARTISTS' CHECKS: We went to send out a thanks to all the contributing musicians and producers of the hitRECorderly #2 vinyl! We all made something really special together and that's due to all the hard work from the production's contributing artists.
