When I was a little girl, I loved reading the comic section of newspapers. I also loved reading, buying, borrowing, and collecting comic books; my favorite was "Calvin & Hobbs." When I watched the tv show "Caroline in the City" I'd wish I grew up to have my own comic strip in a newspaper. I grew up and I never got my comic strip, but I still love comics. These days I love editorial cartoons in newspapers and magazines (like the New Yorker), especially if it is political satire.

I believe cartoons, comics, and doodles are important to society. We're in a generation that does not read much anymore cos we're too busy watching TV or surfing the net. Back in the day, at my elementary school, we had to keep a daily reading log and if I remember correctly, comics (like Marvel and DC comics) were approved mediums because they also have text and consequently, kids would be more inclined to read. My teachers were concerned that we weren't reading and that we would grow up illiterate, so they encouraged us to read everything and anything and as much as we can. Thus, I have ALOT of books at my house, including comics.

I hope this collaboration would encourage people to read, draw, create, think and laugh. My favorite aspect of cartoons, comics and doodles is the latter. I LOVE to laugh and I hope you would laugh too! =)
