- Hold On To Your Dreams - Preview 1
Hey all, finally got around to some remixing again. I searched the site for some acapellas and got inspired by two of them that seemed to have a similar theme. They are from kidcubicle and KamPAIGN. They both seemed to speak to holding on to your dreams and trying not to lose sight as you work your way forward through the maze of life. We're all a work in progress. I think probably most all of us here on hitRECord can relate as we all do what we can to pursue our dreams and push our passions forward.
It's a hip hop track that's still a work-in-progress. Right now it's missing a chorus and I'm going to start a collaboration to see if I can get one of hitRECord's sulty, soulful female singers to sing a chorus over the top and I'll mix it in. More details in the collab.
The song is 93 bpm, there are 3 chorus spots at 1:01, 2:03, and 3:15 all starting with the cymbal crash on the 1.
The bassline is pretty low - sine wave bass that goes below 50 hz, so it's best played on a system with a subwoofer or headphones that can handle that range well, but either way :P

Hey guys, I got inspired by two acapellas I found by kidcubicle and KamPAIGN. They talk about remembering to stay true to yourself and your dreams. As we all do whatever it takes in this life to get ahead and pursue our passions it can be hard to feel like we're ever going to make it. But remember to keep doing whatever it takes; success is following your dreams not simply "making it big". We're all a work-in-progress.
This track is both nostalgic and forward-facing at the same time. So don't ever forget to take a moment to chill out, be grateful, and look back at how far you've come when you need inspiration to take the next step forward.
This track is missing a chorus! It's got 3 spots in it for one. The chorus is 16 bars in length and appears at 1:01, 2:03, and 3:15 on the cymbal crash. I'd love to see some of hitRECord's soulful sisters out there lay down their take on a chorus. And further more there's no lyrics for the chrous yet, so someone could contribute a text RECord on some possible words that fit with this theme.
Also for any ladies singing the chorus, it migth also be cool to sing some laid back accompanyment (just some mmms and such) that I could try mixing in to the verses as well. It shouldn't be anything too upfront as it would be more of a background element.
The track tempo is 93 bpm. I'll post a zip eventually with the stems. Also kidkubicle and KamPAIGN if you feel like you want to rework any of your parts I'm open to it.
I also see the possibility for a couple different remixes including an extended mix and instrumental. I'd love to lay down some soulful/funky lead synth on this track too.
Thanks all!
