This is an attempt of mine of using ethnic instruments and modifying them though modern technology.
While simple in concept, keeping the live acoustic feel is actually quite tricky in practice. I believe I was able to do so, but now I leave it up to you to see if I reached that goal.
Now, the concept of this piece is of a wandering nomad who owns a old Yangqin and is forced to stay in an ancient temple for the night. To appease the ancient spirits he offers to play music as a token of respect and honor. As he plays, not only are the spirits pleased with his playing, but they also begin to join in with their own native instruments. Soon other ancestors of days past join in...
