The mic was already set up, so I just felt like killing some time.
I took a shot at reciting And A New Earth, trying to stay in accordance with RegularJOE's Reprise request. I used wirrow's hi-res video And A New Earth Zip file to record this, so this file matches up with his mp3 of the song, or the original narration/video itself.
If anyone wants, I can also upload this with the mp3 backing it, or as a zip with a larger file format.
I made up this song in sort of a backwards way. Might be neat to throw around and add to. Mild tang of repitition with a country-tinged middle bit to break it up.
I've been experimenting with an analog 4-track recorder that I found in some guy's trash.
Beware, audible dust bunnies!
I'm also trying to get a proper line-in for my computer so these analog to digital transfers work...better.
Another analog experiment from the tape machine I found in some guy's trash.
Enjoy the sound of dust bunnies..
A little touch of vocal percussion in the night...
Day Glo's reading of A Modest Proposal (Jelly Baby version) with some subtle drums and harmonica (e) added to the background.
..for stuff, spare parts, or whatever.
I read "Poor Man Write a Song" by kelseybear and immediately felt compelled to record a song version of it. This is my first take at it, so it's rather spontaneous.
A little messed up in parts. I'm thinking it needs more added to it, or a few more takes.
I was intrigued by messyowl's story...I felt it would sound neat in some kind of musical spoken word style. Somehow it ended up sounding like some sort of western love story cowboy song...
Took a shot at adding some electric guitar to this sweet mix. I basically put the track on loop and recorded 4 tracks of guitar and picked what I thought sort of fit in. There is more, so if anyone wants the GarageBand file...or maybe each guitar track as a seperate audio file?
megancarnes' score is super fitting and regal so I decided to add some marching drums to make it even more pomp-like. I tried to help that BZZZZZSSSHT issue...not the greatest eqer..but I did get Day Glo's track a little bit louder.
Heard Babbish's take on this song and thought of combining the vocal percussive bits of mine with their folksy vibe.
Acoustic guitar, lentils, and nails in a tube on tape.
This needs more stuff... C-Am-Cm, with some added notes here and there.
I couldn't resist...
I was playing around with some words for this song, then I decided to test-record a melody in the chorus spots...
straight up
I wanna go
no, no, no, no...
don't have to be fast or slow
just get me there
ride out
I wanna be
in your seat, seat, seat
so let's drive out to meet
in hitsville
Edit: I'll fix a timing issue and upload my stems for this...
Recorded to tape....
I think this song is really charming, so I recorded some vocals. I have more (including some silly stuff for the end), but it's easier on my computer's brain to upload wavs in parts I guess...
This is double tracked, but I can split it up into a zip too.
I played it through the mix a little quiet and it sounded sort of neat...
Added a couple tracks of vox to Metaphorest's "Battleplan". I'll upload the isolated vocal tracks in a zip, levels are kind of weird in this compressed version....
