It's about time I did this! I will try to do this regularly in the future. For now, here's a list of re-recs from my recs over the past few weeks.
IMAGES
Flying Raven by the appropriately named NeverMore. I love the colours and the fragments.
Raptor Rx by Hati. As I demonstrated with my Incredulosaurus drawing, I love dinos. I love the expressions on this one.
Roll Out by indierocket. I am a big fan of clean, graphical images with colour used sparingly and well. It's also a fun image!
MUSIC
Old Leather by amferraro. I am a minimalist when it comes to my taste in music. I like nothing better than accoustic music with nice voices.
Oh, Captain by Metaphorest. Dig this for the same reason I dug the above song. Also, Metaphorest's stuff is wonderful in general.
loved dianasev's metaphor, had to put it to song. really soft, really slow.
(also just made a fb artist page which can be found in my profile here. i'm not big on social networks, but i realized it'd make it slightly easier for me to connect with some of you. stop by if you can! i'll be fleshing it out soon so it's not so bare)
oh, lover mine
my lids are getting heavy
oh, lover mine
i'm fickle and unsteady
but i've settled on a phrase
and i'll tell it to you straight
you are to me like old leather
oh, lover mine
i've loved and i have broken
oh, lover mine
i've not meant what i've spoken
but i'm feeling honest now
you are to me like old leather
This needs something or lots of things but I'm not sure what! Please go crazy! :) I'll upload stems presently!
I was sailing in the bathtub
I didn’t have an oar
I was shouting for the captain
But he was overboard
On the bathroom floor
I was flying in a bubble
Floating on the breeze
But I knew I was in trouble
When it drifted into the trees
To the taunts of the passing bees
Where have I come from?
Where am I going?
There's no way of knowing, no.
Should I shuffle this way?
Should I run that way?
Captain come and steer this boat
I was swimming in a soup bowl
'til I got out of my depth
Then I clung on to the bread roll
So I could catch my breath
But I haven't caught it yet
All the king's men couldn't fix me
I'm a faulty Rubik's cube
I'm a second-hand shop jigsaw
With a missing piece or two
Impossible to conclude
Where have I come from?
Where am i going?
There's no way of knowing, no.
Should I shuffle this way?
Should I run that way?
Captain come and steer this boat
Well, I made an account and realized that I didn't have much on my computer to upload. Still... I felt like I needed to upload something! This little drawing encapsulates the thoughts that ran through my head last year during some tough times. The title "Roll Out" is drawn from the Ted Leo and the Pharmacists song "Little Dawn." Anyways, music is usually my main outlet, so maybe my I'll post some of my band's newer demos on here when I finish up the guitar tracks!
