You know the drill!
may there be music in hevn - crackedhands - Rachel is so exceptionally talented and she's put that to great use in this epic soundscape/soundtrack. I just love the vibe this creates - very dreamlike and surreal but still emotive. A fantastic, imaginative musical addition to Joe's VO.
capuchin monkey - arthsaw - Found this song thanks to jehuGarcia using it in one of his videos and very glad I did. A beautiful piece of music and one I'm working on vocals for at the mo. Hopefully you guys will chime in too! :)
feckin Hesher budget intro - bloemday - This just cracked me up hehe. Excellent work in the art department and a great example of the fun one can have re-imagining pieces on the site in new and hilarious ways.
vibes and feelings - thesherbethead - In my opinion one of the very best pieces of editing on the site. The multi-talented sherbz has created a really memorable music video here using public domain footage cut to his very own and also awesome track of the same name.
Zucchini Boats and Sugaring Off - SparksOverEmbers - An honest, engaging piece of auto-biographical writing. I love writers who find profundity in the mundane and this does so so cleverly. Excellent writing and written with heart. Although this is SparksOverEmbers own story, it's very relatable and resonates whatever your history I think.
This is a Story - sparra - Similar to the above this is an honest piece of no bullshit good writing. I love a great true love story. This is the real deal. :)
Reason's Refugees - smweed - smweed has some fantastic poems and lyrics on the site. This is just one of them that particularly resonated with me. It's particularly refreshing and topical given the current wave of anti-imagination, anti-wonder sentiment flying about the big wide world. This was a breath of fresh air and I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments to beautifully expressed. It's something I have often tried to say but never managed to so eloquently.
In the forest of urth (2) - cerebis - Stunning, magical footage with a thousand potential uses. A very inspiring video indeed. More great, pretty, useful stuff from cerebis basically :)
Rubber Stamp (Doo Wop) - pamagotchi - Such a clever and imaginative remix by Pammy of a poem I wrote. I love what she's done with it - I could never have expected something so cool to come of it. Loving all the Pammy songs lately - keep em coming miss. Your singing voice is as lovely as your speaking one.
Your Mama's Vinyl - RedHeadMonster - I love Julia's drawing style an colours especially - they really jump out. No idea how she does this but I likes it. This is an image which could be useful for several things. Good stock HR imagery.
Rusted - Lizzieenrose - This lady has such a beautiful, delicate, unique voice, and I love what she does with it too. Simple, classic songwriting. This one is very remixable too - in a similar vein to the Garden song. If I had the skills I'd get right on it.
Fast beats, cut up guitar, fucked up sample.

So, I designed an album cover. It's not what Marke and Joe asked for. In fact, it's pretty much the opposite of what Marke and Joe asked for. They asked for a cover that is Not Your Mama's Vinyl and I made something that is, well, exactly like your mama's vinyl. Or maybe even your grandmama's, depending on your age. At some point, I will learn to listen to authority figures and do what they ask of me. Today is not that day. It was, however, fun to draw, something that could be used potentially on this site for another purpose, and something that could go in an illustration portfolio. So in that sense, mission accomplished.

I was inspired by librarygirl6's wonderful video "When the people you love stayed..." to post this... reminiscence that I wrote a couple of months ago. Now that I'm a little older, I'... |

A stroll through the forest
I loooved this piece by Metaphorest, and I was thinking about it at work and this tune came into my head.
And then this happened.
I made up the harmonies so I hope they are alright. I know the timing and things goes off a little, but I hope it gets the idea across! I imagined lots of brass/trombone blaring at the pauses ^__^

Oh I'm not one for extremes
Oh I don't have big dreams
Or grand schemes
I'm a rubber stamp.
[A Rubber stamp]
Oh I drink out from the trough
And not from dainty cups
Yeah that's enough
I'm a rubber stamp
[A rubber stamp]
I'm a stage-left observer
An certainty swerver
A slow stepper
A limelight leper
I'm a rubber stamp
[A rubber stamp]
Oh though I'm trying to improve
I'm just too slow to move
Part moth at the lamp
I'm a rubber stamp.
