So I'd been trying for ages to come up with some lyrics to go with amferraro's Careless Young...and couldn't manage it, til he posted a poem 'To a Singer' which set me off! This is a very simple addition - the music is so beautiful on its own I didn't want to overdo it. I much prefer Anthony's own song for this poem but thought I'd post this anyway in case it could be of use/interest! :)
Hi friends! I haven't uploaded anything in awhile, so here's a little something from my recent trip up to Mono Lake in Eastern Sierra Nevada. This was taken over a 3 hour period from midnight to 3am. This lake has the most amazing rock formations and I love how the rocks in these photos make it look kinda 3D. Oh, and I promise no stars were added in! Hope you like it!

Metaphorest wrote it and sang it; the lass writes in French too? She's a regular Nabokov! Suzyrene played magnificent piano. Today Madrond101 resurrected in true french form with his accordion, which inspired themetafictionist to sing a harmony part, which has inspired me to sing this.
I think it probably sounds a bit too much like ol' Tom. En plus, mon français peux être plus claire. Mais putain, c'est écrit par une irelandaise alors merde.
So Joe did a wonderful job on vocals for Metaphorest's Le Petit Soldat, and since he posted just his vocals, I decided to add his vocals with just my accordion playing. I was thinking if there were some bar noises in the background and maybe drunken cheering at the end, that would really make it fantastic.
A theme of running away to go with naturenerd's awesome portrait of the idea of running away. Hoping these ideas would be used in something. http://v4.hitrecord.org/records/315030
The rhyming creation myth by wirrow and Metaphorest. I tweaked the words just a little, and my draft of the text is resourced below. And here I recorded a reading of it. There's already been lots of great readings of this poem, and I hope there are more to come. I think it might be cool to mix a grand multitude of voices together to tell this story.
The next thing that probably ought to happen is for visual artists to start drawing specific parts. Pick a stanza you like, or even just one line and turn it into any sort of image. Maybe pretty soon we could have a bit of a storybook slideshow going, which is usually an important step in big animation projects.
A little summer song, written, recorded, and arranged by me.

I was VERY nervous to see it all printed for the first time. So I RECorded the experience of opening it. Guys, it's fucking beautiful. Bravo to us all!! <3
I was stuck inside with a cold with a view of snow outside, so I did a little blues/lounge inspired version of make space. Its a little bare so please join in.
I've always wanted to make this song the closing track of a great rock record. It's got a summer kind of vibe. It reminds me of the Wonder Years for some reason. Haha.
I can't wait for the vinyl release!!
Saw these videos for the first time today and decided to write some music for it. These videos are incredible

Wrote this in the wee hours of the morning after being inspired by something or someone one night. Normally I'd take the words and make a song; this time I did something different and spoke them. I've been finding reasons for why I shouldn't put this on here, but I finally just said fuck it, so here it is.
I've been lurking on hitRECord for some time now. Just finally got the courage to put something up myself. I'd love feedback :)

This is a song called only the world...
sometimes as a fella you say the wrong thing...
Sometimes as a person you're insecure...
I wrote this song in both of those places.
I would love Artwork or Videos for any of my songs.

All your talk of mountains and lakes, |

murder and thievery
everywhere
you say i don't know
you say i don't care
singing angelically
in the streets
i can hear their screams
they sound beautifully to me
murder and thievery
left and right
you say not today
you say not tonight
acting so carelessly
with my love
i think you've had enough
i think it's time to call it in
murder and thievery
in your words
i've got you cornered now
my little criminal
lift up your head
into the honest blue
and tell me you're not guilty
of the things i've done to you
i call it murder and thievery
A lot of Japanese influence in this one. The harp sets the tone in the beginning and the flute carries the melody most of the way until the strings pick it up and get carried by the Taiko drums and then we end back again with the harp. I hope this inspires some one of you many brilliants out there!
