1. Spring by riistan. She's so very pretty and spring-y and embodies a feeling of hope and fresh verdant life. Someone could write a lovely little story about her and I've seen some great REmixes visually.
2. First Sighting by bloemday. This is so gorgeous. It's got a quaint fantastical element, but mostly it's just a magical mystical night of love.
3. I Have No Cats-Music Video by Melanne. This is simply fantastic. The editing is amazing, the sound is great and her lip synching is off the charts. It's hilarious and fun and I've been singing it all week because of this.
4. Southern Dust (For Ryan) by pamagotchi. The gal knows how to sing and make melodies sweeter. It's a catchy song for all its melodious sweetness. Make more, people.
5. Dreamer by Melismayhem. It's a great poem. The words are visually stimulating. The meaning is clear and relevant. It's resonating.
6. cotton candy by yorikonori. What a trippy little, fantastic picture. How weird and random. Yet adorable and loveable. Stories and animations please.
7. Pouring by featherpetal. I confess I never really saw the point of the tiny story until I saw this REmix. But now I get it. It's vibrant and beautiful.
8. paint me the universe by joshersaurusREX. This is really cool. It's a cornucopia of wordly wealth. It paints a great picture and is amusing and intriguing at the same time.
9. Catch My Drift by Dwayne Wegley. Not a week really goes by without him putting out something great. This is no exception. I love the vocals especially here.
10. Thinking Box-tiny story by Pigsy. This is a great Tiny Story. It's clever and thought provoking and the illustration is really great. It brings it alive and it makes it interesting.
Am I crazy?
A music video for the awesome 'I Have No Cats' song.

Update (11.6.11): the second costume in this video was my costume for Halloween this year. I should have tried something else... it wasn't very practical when I wanted to drink or eat something...

I wanted to apologize for not being able to make re-recs albums for the next few weeks (I'm on the move). I tried to make it up to all my readers by making this video (last week) with some records I would have re-recommended:
- "I Have No Cats": songs and collaboration
- the "hitRECord Mugshots" collaboration (and records)
- Call-In Song Requests: there are fantastic contributions!
- K-REC Stingers and the hitRECord 'Radio'
I also wanted to talk about the lip-syncing technique: I think it's not used enough for music videos in general and I would like to see how you would use it...
ok my example/ video is not the best one, but it really was just for fun. I couldn't shoot with some friends so I had to do it myself (and I'm not an actress as you can see hahaha) but for once, I wanted to show you what I had in mind and not write some suggestions or ideas for a video remix...
I didn't have much time for the editing but I will re-work on it when I'll be back. So, it's a work in progress as I'm still not completely satisfied with it.
Thanks again to tonguecutsparrow for the song and lyrics. I wouldn't have been able to make this video without the lyrics! ;)
I found this great loop by GwenInterrupted from a Forrest Knauff song...I wanted to try again with the words I wrote.
Again, harmonies aren't quite right...does someone want to play around with this?

In a world of diamond giants
And things, well I don't care to know or hear
I walked across the greying waters
And you poured Southern dust in my ears
To have you pour Southern dust in my ears
I sat on the brink of the night time
And up rose the sound of your strings
You plucked them like plums and they fell in my hand
I took a bite of your dreams
I took a bite of your dreams
So take me to Carolina,
Let me look inside of your mind
Show me the sunsets, the four walls of your bedroom
And in the tuning and chords
And in the tuning and chords let me hide
You said you were sad in your twenties
And the tears turned into musical chords
But your tears, well they've made me so happy
And in your sadness my spirit has soared
And in your sadness my spirit has soared
You sat all alone on the hard wooden floor
And the darkness leaned in for a peek
And I felt my lungs tighten like a flying car window
As you poured Southern dust in my ears
As you poured Southern dust in my ears
So take me to Carolina,
Let me look inside of your mind
Show me the sunsets, the four walls of your bedroom
And in the tuning and chords
And in the tuning and chords let me hide
So take me to Carolina,
Let me look inside of your mind, your mind,
Show me the sunsets, the four walls of your bedroom
And in the tuning and chords
And in the tuning and chords
And in the tuning and chords let me hide.
Let me hide
Let me hide.

Do do do
I'm walking around
and I'm upside down
so it's not a frown
it's a smile in disguise
open up your eyes a woah
do do do you
remember when
we learned how to sin
when we first began to realize
we had our own eyes a woah
sometimes these words make since better in my head
so when they leave my lips and scatter in the air
I hope you catch my drift when I say
the words that get stuck deep inside
my hippocampus wrinkle lines
I have the worst time getting them all out
do do do do
I'm thinking about
all the early years
when my salty tears
had sting against my cheeks
but now they just leak a woah
due due due due
the bills are there
in my swivel
and I try to keep my hair
from falling out
like a water spout a woah
sometimes these words make since better in my head
so when they leave my lips and scatter in the air
I hope you catch my drift when I say
the words that get stuck deep inside
my hippocampus wrinkle lines
I have the worst time getting them all out
