REviving hitRECord Academy - I think this's a great idea! As someone who's currently in the process of teaching herself how to use GIMP, I know things like editing software are complicated beasts. Any help in deciphering new techniques can only improve our skills. :D
Rocky Mts, Alberta - a stunning piece of photography
Strawberries in flight - as someone who loves photography and loves learning about all the neat tricks out there, I loved this photo.
pprescott's mugshot - I love the entire mugshot collection. Having seen vintage mugshots and how funny and oddly artistic they can be, I love the idea of the collab. I picked her photo, though, because her face and eyes look especially lovely through this type of editing.
Fireflies - love this short poem by Metaphorest. Short, yet still strongly conveys a sense of awe and beauty for the world we live in.
On the virtue of not giving a good goddamn - Lady has a killer philosophy, imo. I loved Jules' photo and her capturing that moment. :D
I'm posting this because I thought this lady was awesome.
I was doing some Hula on the beach today, taking a few videos and photos, when this lady came up to me and said, “You reflect the beauty of Long Island.” Which was, okay, a little odd. We started chatting about stuff, and she told me that she was: a past-life therapist, a reflexologist, a dancer, and a nudist. She also randomly told me, “I really love Native Americans!” I told her I was part Choctaw. She went away for a few minutes and then came back with a heart-shaped shell, which she gave to me, and a blue shell. She told me the blue shell was wampum and I needed to have it.
I asked if I could photograph her and she said yes, once she got into her position. This was her position.
Okay, I know people can sometimes get judgey, but she was so full of joy and SHE JUST DIDN’T GIVE A DAMN WHAT ANYONE THOUGHT, and by virtue of not giving a single eff, she was kind of awesome.

A composite of lots of shots, which I did for practice and fun :) It's not perfect by any means, I should really apply depth of field effects, and the glass could have been cleaner :)
