so ya... it's subtle
Update: I'm rreallly not sure if this is a Public Domain melody...can anyone help me out!?
A Maori lullaby written in 1907 by Princess Te Rangi Pai. I have long been fascinated by the Maori culture and language, and this is one of my favourite songs...so beautiful.
It was published in 1907, which, from my understanding means it is in the Public Domain...if it's not, humblest apologies and I will take this to the Deletion Collab without further ado.
Anyway, this is Monday Night Lullaby...goodnight! <3
Ps I really hope I haven't massacred the pronounciation!
E tangi ana koe
[You are weeping]
Hine e hine
[Little girl, darling girl]
E ngenge ana koe
[You are weary]
Hine e hine
[Little girl, darling girl]
Kati tö pouri rä
[Be sad no longer]
Noho i te aroha
[There is love for you]
Te ngäkau o te Matua
[In the heart of the father]
Hine e hine
[Little Girl, darling Girl]
Translation of lyrics found here: http://folksong.org.nz/hine/index.html
smweed very kindly thought of me when it came to her wonderful written piece "Summertime", and I was very keen to give it a remix! Turned out to be one of the most difficult remixes of my life! I tried so many different styles, so many different takes, songs, melodies...nothing I felt did justice to the feel of the piece. So in the end, I tried to leave it as raw as possible. One last take, added some Garageband loops of a bass to keep it real simple...and then added some effects of a smoky bar/jazz lounge. This is how I imagined this song being sung...
I just really hope I haven't over done it.
Woo, lengthy explanation.
smweed, thank you for such a wonderful piece of writing, I hope that this has done it some measure of justice..hopefully someone can remix it to make it sound a little less amateur?!
<3
A piano played a little melody and began to stutter. After he gets angry, he calmed down. Hard to explain what is in my mind, sorry :P
My friend Avid (and his team of interns and friends) has actually already made a really cute collaborative music video for this, and you can check it out on YouTube here:
Warm Fuzzy Love Song puppets music video by Avid & Team Awesome
I would love to see/hear/read more REsults for this little tune ;) enjoy!

"Warm Fuzzy Love Song" (2010)
Soft as the sea
Warm as can be
You’re chocolate to me
Hug like a bear
Purr like a cat
Love love love you
I love you
I love you
Soft as the sea
Warm you and me
Strawberry kiss me
Breakfast with you
Desserts for two
Love love love you
You hug like a bear
I purr like a cat
Love love love you
I love you
❤
This is a rough recording of a song based on Metaphorest's Shadow People Poem. I forgot to turn my microphone's input down so it's a little glitchy. In a perfect world, I'd love for someone to re-record the music for me because I feel like mine's a little boring, and then I'd re-record the vocals. You know you want to...
And now she comes and now she goes,
And now she keeps you on your toes,
She lives for poetry and prose:
She's the violet indigo purple girl.
Thanks to Gweninterrupted, i looked on my computer and i found some loops... I don't know what i can make with them, so i upload them !
Here is a simple melody with arpeggio on the synth.
Here is just the music.
Can someone make something with that ?
I'm sorry that this one includes paths that hurt eyes, but i don't know how to cut just parts of vids, so i bring this raw. ! . Thx for ur understanding, friends.
(and with sound, if ever, for a soundtrack.)
It's fun to lose yourself out here.
My first Record. This piece has lyrics but I decided against adding them for my first RECord. The parts that stem away from the main idea of the piece are improvisations.
Look forward to any criticism and feedback.
This is a track I made and a song I have been working on for a while but I just dont have the rest of. Please feel free to fill in the empty spaces.
88 BPM.
A basic midi instrument hip hop beat with a summery vibe. Plays out initially with all parts dancing together and then all of the stems are broken down for remixing.
My Roomate recorded this the other night. I asked him if it was cool to RECord and he said yes. Enjoy
Over the top treatment of P. Flow's DOPE horrorcore flow. Trying to support the track with some musical entertainment.
Presented as raw treatment intentionally. Drums? Chorus? Other instruments? Arrangement ideas? I'm open, scopin' on this one...Hit me up if you need any stems, have any ideas, etc.
REMIX IT, YO!
I add some trumpet on the awesome Robo_J's song. I didn't mix it very well and i didn't add effect, so i'll upload the stem if anyone want to mix it better and add some reverb, or else...
I made a little music, inspired by the beautiful and melancholic video "unfocused" by messyowl.
My Dad taught me this chord when I was really little and he called it the John Lennon Chord.
A short song I made as a hypothetical score for a bird's first flight on a summer morning.
Fear is the thief of dreams
Fear clouds everything
Dream the dream of the stars
Dream the dream of the sea
Dream the dream of our ancestors
Dream the dream of the earth
Chords: A, E, D, Bm

2 months ago, parts of my hometown (Springfield MA) and surrounding areas were devastated by tornadoes.
I live in the college town 1/2 an hour north now and a friend of mine actually said something like "who cares about Springfield anyways?". It set me off because I most certainly do. People are people. Anyhow, I finally got this to a point where it's shareable.
I was inspired by how the disaster brought the community together so that's why it sounds hopeful. There's also a certain something that happens to your soul when these things transpire and you live through them. It almost makes you feel younger because you appreciate life that much more. What you held as problems soon erode and in a strange way, we can thank mother nature for it (see: A Tornados Serenity by KatieR90). Just some ideas I was having. Maybe it leads you somewhere visually, maybe you come up with a melody.
Dedicated to those who lost their lives in these tornadoes.
A goal of mine is to try to make songs less cluttered so that RECorders aren't overwhelmed with my beats. That being said, feel free to ask for breakdowns of the music via stems. Kinda just wanted to share this as is for now.
I was just changing out the strings on my acoustic guitar and I decided to record one of my biggest fears. Every time I put new strings on I think I'm going to wind them too tight and break them and the string will shoot up and blind my eye. I know, I'm crazy. But this sound is really unnerving and I think would go great in the background of a horror piece of some sorts.
There are two different strings being broken. Then I took the A string recording and distorted it. Sounds pretty cool.
Have fun and Remix.
:)
Just an unfinished track. No vocals, no bassline. Please, go mad.
bass riff loop
This is the first track I've written with a full band in mind. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making.
Get up and DANCE!!
this is the stripped down version of this track. for copyright reasons i can only post the instrumental version.
original description:
paying tribute to one of my favorite tv shows - generation kill. dismissed! info: this campaign began with a two second beatbox sample i recorded on my phone. sliced it in FL to 95 bpm and decorated it with a few semi-automatic samples for full effect. built a danger-close beat over the mix and airdropped a few rhodes-slices in the vicinity. mission accomplished.

[for all of you who are traveling to the #SFRECord show...have a great time - here's a lil something for the road...I wish I could be there to see you all...someday soon, I'm sure...]
you know it's true
i can't survive without you
i love the way you react
when our fluids mix
let's be parasites
and drain each other dry
the blood we drink
could keep us fed forever

What if during the announcement, a few strangers started to play instruments? Would the announcer participate? Would everybody else participate?
If I imagine this as a music video, I can't help but smile. We shouldn't be afraid to have fun in public just because you don't know the people you're having fun with.
Some very shaky raw footage of my copy of the recollection :o)
Just a tune I had in my head...
Ok, so I made this track, added the drums, bass, guitars, but that's all i could do. My mind just stopped working. So I figured why not let other awesome hitRECorders do the rest?
So the track is called "The Secret". Its just a title I came up with while listening to it, we'll change it later on once its complete. Its made up of 4 layers.
1) Piano 1
2) Drums
3) Bass
4) Piano 2
Musicians:
Just listen to the track, and add ANYTHING you think suits the music. Guitars, synths, harmonicas, heavy electric guitars, harps, vocals, ANYTHING! Just make sure that when you add the new layer, release it as a RECord mixed with this track, but also as a seperate STEM so it can easily be mixed.
Check the STEMS of this track once they're uploaded. I've also included sheet music for both Piano's, cuz it'll just sound 100 times better if anyone can play them with a REAL piano, as the ones on this track are from a VST.
Writers/Lyricists:
Your lyrics don't need to be on a specific theme, such as "The Secret". Don't keep the title in mind when writing, just write about anything you think suits this type of music, anything you want to write about.
Track details are:
KEY: G Major/ E Minor
Signature: 6/4 at 170BPM
I hope this works out well, really excited how it'll turn out.
You remember playing hide and seek,
Running in a tiny apartment.
Adventure courses full of spiders’ webs.
Smart tricks to avoid a kiss on the lips.
The kid pretending to be Superman, his towel
Tied around his neck and some
Sunglasses on his nose.
Tea spoons from the wedding set
Which all ran away in the trash one day,
Quotes, now famous: “Do you want a Malbo light?”
Never-ending giggles.
Anonymous postcards.
Candy blackmails just because you refused to play a game.
This is your childhood.
Because of the years and distance, you’ve grown apart.
But most of the time you’ll meet again for a communion, a wedding,
A funeral.
Sometimes, you have to start from the very first step, as if you
Were facing a stranger.
Your memories aren’t theirs; and he’s already a man,
She’s already a woman.
They travel to Africa, to Austria.
They want to save lives, from hunger or from flames.
They believe their desires are reality,
So you become a dreamer at your turn.
Then you realise that “it’s all or nothing.”
When it appears you got nothing, it’s life,
But it doesn’t mean you love them less than before.
It’s just, now, you admire them from afar.
It’s your blood.
Or the souvenirs of an old friendship that we wanted to preserve.
But whether the relation is obvious or not,
It’s family.
And this is exactly why this is so beautiful.
Thank you to Cinammon for writing such beautiful words, recording a beautiful VO and generally inspiring this whole thing. Merci merci merci <3
Beat only. Added some compression
This reminds me of the Balanese Dancers who dance to an abstract sound...
JUST A LİTTLE STARTER İF ANYONE CAN USE İT...?

It's like... a video about music with sound from the video about a song. About the song from the video.
PAPA CHATTIN ABOUT THE FAMINE AND EARLLY IRISH ANCESTORS. THOUGHT ID SHARE HES A VULGAR YET HILARIOUS MAN. LOVE N MISS YA POP!
SOMETHING IS NOT QUITE RIGHT
Here's a song from my new band Sharkula (http://www.sharkula.bandcamp.com). I would LOVE it if someone wanted to help make a video for it!
This song is the result of several instruments and one late night. If anyone feels inspired to add their touch, feel free. If not, I hope you enjoy it anyway.
Would be great for someone to rap on this.
metal-ish bass line.
I asked, "why are white people called crackers?" I learned it is a reference to slave owners, keeping people in line when they "crack that whip." I am not a slave, but feel beholden to all sorts of shackles nonetheless. Here's to the spiritually crippling effect of society. Cheers.
So here is some footage that could be used in the Halloween Intro; I used my camera's night vision thingy.
The idea behind this is really kind a spoof of recent horror films that seem to involve 'home camcorders' and fast jerky camerashots. I live in a Georgian house which has always given me the creeps anyway, actually as I kid I wouldn't go up to the top of the house at night because I thought that's when the ghosts liked to hang out. Actually, part of me still thinks that :P
here is raw video i RECorded of a Mayan Ritual Dance being performed at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, as part of the day-long Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration held there on 10.22.11
celebrating the transition into the next great adventure with pounding rhythms and dancing.
I made my way to the front of the crowd, crouched down, and hit RECord. made it a little shaky to enhance the dancing a little bit.

Halloween was awesome! And Thanksgiving is on the prowl! So I say... ON WITH THE FESTIVITES!!
(a little children's song I wrote. feel free to sing along.) ;)
lyrics:
Halloween you did alright! But now it’s time we say goodnight!
Hop on the old November Bus! Pumpkin Pie for all of us!
I wanna be a Turkey, I wanna be a Turkey, Nothing you say can hurt me, cause I wanna be a Turkey
(la da la da la)
I’m gonna eat some Turkey Legs, I’ll have leftovers for 30 days,
I’ll eat so much I’ll never stop, I don’t care if my belly pops,
A Turkey can gobble and so can I, I’ll gobble my way to the Rhubarb Pie,
The Mac and Cheese has caught my eye, the cranberries oh my, oh my,
I wanna be a Turkey, I wanna be a Turkey, Nothing you say can hurt me, cause I wanna be a Turkey
(la da la da la)
Thanksgiving is what we Long for….. long for, and it’s here!
(La la la la)
Happy Thanksgiving!
Some acoustic guitar and kit.
People make films out of the stories that already exist. Let´s try the other way around. Help me make this footage in to a story.
Some of the footage is not of the best quality and some of the scenes are rely long, but I wanted to let you se the hole story and to give you as much freedom as possible to edit the footage to your own liking. I hope that someone will be inspired to do something cool out of this. For starters, the film desperately needs a soundtrack.
Naturally, you can pick it apart completely and use some smaller part you need for yore own stuff. Fore example there is footage of a snowcowerd park, a door that opens and a crowded street in Sweden.
Excuse the horrible spelling. I don´t usually write in englisch and I´m dyslectic.
Miami Vice ain't got nuthin' on me!

I saw Meta posted the stems for this to Albert, and I noticed that he might want some male vocals in the song. All I did was sing along with it, not really any fancy harmonies or anything, so I can post my vocals alone if you happen to want them. Or, I can even record different harmonies if you like. It might even be best if I wasn't singing the entire time. All just an idea, nothing big. Let me know. :)
I took thesherbethead's "Untitled Strings #1" and added some drums to it. It was the first take, so they aren't perfect, as it get's off on a couple of parts but whatevs. Not sure if it needs anything else, but that is for YOU to decide. :) I also named it. I don't like having songs without names.
This is a fresh one that I got singalong help from tiafischer. Chew on this while I take some time to work out more remix goodness with other records I have cooking.
Hey Guys!
As you all probably know by now, I spend my evenings trying to get awesome at AE. Here's another animation showing off what I learned today. Enjoy!
Altered
There's a welcome party held under ground
For the salty girl from our sugar town
She's the chosen queen
Of our little scene
And she's back after the operation
All the girls and boys
Out there making noise
Came to show her a sweet time / Are in awe of the alteration
So very sugary now
We’re gonna make her feel secured (Can't shake off that sensation)
Protected, safe and re-assured (This feeling of sedation)
We've finally had her fully cured (Lack of orientation)
So sweet, from head to tit to feet (Can't shake off that sensation)
So holy, so right, so complete (She's lost in their translation)
So sweet, She's soon to have a fit (Succumb to desperation)
So very sugary now
She's the chosen queen
Of our little scene
And she's back after the operation
All the girls and boys
Out there making noise
Are in awe of the alteration
She's out on a limb
It's a broken dream
Caught in a chemical reaction
Now it all looks grim
And her lights are dim
Can't shake it off, shake shake it off OFF
Tell me tell me slowly
that you love me
that you know me
and then maybe
you can show me
where were going in this wonderland of love
Love is caring
Love is sharing
Love is giving
Love is saying all that we feel
Always real
every way
every day
as we play..in the sun
of our lives..we'll survive,we'll survive
everyday..everyway..
When I heard this song by Almost Sound it reminded me of my favorite influence in music. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.
I've decided after a decent amount of over-analyzing that I would release this one.
Remixed the stems from "Night Owl Drums Amped" by theboxsets and sampled dialogue and various audio bytes from "Sound and the Story (1956)" from the public domain. Figured it would make an interesting contribution to "The Vinyl Collaboration."
The folowing Public Domain footage was used:
"Sound and the Story (1956)" - http://www.archive.org/details/SoundAndTheS
A composition I made for university a few years ago. Apologies for the dodgy reason drums, and somewhat dodgy guitar playing.
I created this tune using 10 samples on GarageBand. I used 3 electric bass samples, 2 drum kits, 2 organ, 1 electricpiano, 1 congos, and a shaker. Feel free to use for anything :)
murder and thievery
everywhere
you say i don't know
you say i don't care
singing angelically
in the streets
i can hear their screams
they sound beautifully to me
murder and thievery
left and right
you say not today
you say not tonight
acting so carelessly
with my love
i think you've had enough
i think it's time to call it in
murder and thievery
in your words
i've got you cornered now
my little criminal
lift up your head
into the honest blue
and tell me you're not guilty
of the things i've done to you
i call it murder and thievery
Ever wondered why the multitude of leads, cables and wires behind your computer or tv always end up intransigently tangled together as if by their own free will?
I set up a camera with the aim to discover the cause of this phenomena and the result was surprising to say the least.
* This is actually something I made quite a few years ago but wirrow persuaded me to upload here - appologies if some of the text looks a bit blurry i converted it from an old swf file *
this song i made on the same evening like Deer with the same programm and also never knew what to do with it
maybe you can use it :)
I got inspired to make this for Re: Occupy Wall Street but it might be a good Re: Love contribution as well. It still needs music. It still needs a lot, probably. But I think the right score could make it really resonate! Also, just want to say that I'm really grateful to have a place to share art and a community to make things with! It's an honor. P.S. - I have a higher res version of this but the file size is just too gigantic.
Some instrumental hip-hop/beats. Could definitely do with some more instrumentation and stuff.
I hope you like it.
Apparently when I say in a re-REC album "someone should do ____!" I mean "Julia, you know what you should do when you have a few hours to kill that you want to do instead of tackling your to-do list? That thing!" So this afternon I dug up a bunch of public domain old-timey footage, pieced it together, and voila! A video for the lovely song-like thing (still doesn't feel like a song to me, still not sure what to call it) "Try Not to Think About That".
You know, if I ever gathered up all the time I spend procrastinating and bored noodling around in various creative computer programs and actually directed it towards something, it's entirely possible I could turn into a productive and contributing member of society at some point in my life.
...nah.
I didn't Hitrecord for a long time... Pregancy, work, oulala ! Too many things to do. I tried to do somthing with repetitions and rythms, like a metronome. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Missing something...maybe you.
let it surround you.
Since this is one of my favourite music tracks on this website, I thought I'd recreate it using many other instruments other than the piano. Do check out the original version By Megan Carnes http://v4.hitrecord.org/records/156937
