The outsider stood beside The little low-tide, as it dried And he sighed as he decided, "We'd be better off inside." |

Remixed version of Readmooses's illustration for Michal's tiny story 'Outsider'.
This was an excellent exercise in drawing feet :)
The outsider stood beside
The little low-tide, as it dried
And he sighed as he decided,
"We'd be better off inside."
I love this little melancholic story. I wanted to show the 'outsider' aspect through the difference in media, the flat ink and the built out paper. Just a prototype I can see someone else doing this much better than me! Thanks for this story (YAY)

If I read our story backwards, it’s about how I un-broke your heart, and then we were happy until one day you forgot about me forever. I love happy end... |
|
|
Please excuse my drawing skills as this is more of a mock up than anything :o) Just thought I'd put it out there and see what you guys could do with the idea. I just see this tiny story played out like a slideshow or comic strip. Maybe you could make it where no matter which way you read it, it makes sense. Does that make sense? Like a continuous filmstrip or something? Anyway, get remixing my friends!

I love happy endings.
This is my illustration for the brilliant tiny story 'righttoleft' by Blodnasir.
I was also inspired by pprescott's comic panel style idea for her illustration of the story. I wanted to create a comic panel that was ripped and rearranged as if whoever wrote the story did this too out of frustration.

i collect flickering stars in old pickling jars, poking holes in the lids so they can breathe. |
|
|
I am not the best person drawing, I draw, but I am not that good, anyway, one of the things that I learn here at Hitrecord, is not to be afraid of trying new things and try to make improvements and find the way to do everything better, so here it is, my illustration for the lovely Tiny Story: Summer Hobby!!!!!
My take on thedustdancestoo's 'Summer Hobby'... in comic form.
i collect flickering stars
in old pickling jars,
poking holes in the lids
so they can breathe.
Just a quick little illustration for thedustdancestoo's tiny story, I wanted these to be literal stars (balls of light) not fireflies. The scanner didn't pick up the shading I did in the jar, so anyone with photoshop and photoshop skills please feel free to play with this.
Ok, this is very, very rudimentary, so if an actual artist could take this and run w/ it that would be amazing.
My concept is of a free-spirited, Eloise-esque girl who took her ladder to a field, and rested it against the night sky to collect her star pets.
Feel free to add things: more jars for sure, a tree, town in the distance, etc.
In my mind, it's very soft and dreamlike in nighttime colors, but I encourage different styles because yours may be the one I didn't know I wanted. ;)
This is an illustration for thedustdancestoo's Summer Hobby (a tiny story) with text included in the illustration.
It is also my first attempt to illustrate any of the tiny stories' text so constructive comments are welcome!
Tiny story text:
i collect flickering stars
in old pickling jars,
poking holes in the lids
so they can breathe.
This is my an alternate of my illustration for summer hobby (a tiny story) by thedustdancestoo. This version has an added star-catching jar and some addition details. I did not add the text in this version but if anyone is interested I could add it to another record.
Summer Hobby (a tiny story)

in old pickling jars,
poking holes in the lids
so they can breathe.

I fear I might be paranoid.
|
|
|
I fear that I might be paranoid. I lament that I may be depressed. I deny that I could be in denial.
The words of thesherbethead and AeB are marvelous and I would never venture towards outting or upping them, but for the sake of commonality, I made the ideas of depression and denial follow the same pattern as MaxBrixton's original story. This is still a very, very rough word-sorting, so feel free to mix things up!
The images are a mighty remix compilation as well, so a big, big THANK YOU to all the artists, esp to totallyjamie for pioneering the white-on-black boldness.
(The triangle-face is being fixed, it looks so odd!)
"I fear I might be paranoid" - spider vs human
EDIT: Yeah it's a bit obscure... but I remember this time when I saw a black spider on the wall. I was really scared and I wondered if I should kill it. If it wasn't poisonous, then I wouldn't care I'd just stick it outside. But what if it was....and to be on the safe side I squished it. Is that being paranoid? To be better safe than sorry?
In the drawing, a human is killing a spider with spray just as the spider is about to attack. So the human is paranoid and thinks the spider is going to kill them, the spider is paranoid and thinks the human is going to kill them...and they have every right to be paranoid... yeah........so either the human or the spider is saying 'I fear I might be paranoid'...? Eh
Haus_of_Glitch created the tiniest story RECord, Danah illustrated the tiniest story (illustration) and i REmixed the illustration by adding a little wirrow to it :))
One upon a time, there was The End.
So I saw this image by Dezh and I kinda liked the idea of taking the words "upon" and "time" literally. And here's what I imagined: a little human-like creature - a personification of The End - sitting on a clock, giving us the eye and waving with his top hat, as if he were saying "don't worry, in two minutes a new Beginning is going to appear..."

One upon a time, there was The End.
(This is a REvised version of the image I made for The Tiniest Story by Haus_of_Glitch, a more REmixable one, I hope. And below is the same description that I added to the first version - just in case you haven't seen the v1 and you're wondering what the heck I was thinking about drawing this;)).

Voilà my second colouring of Magdalena's illustration !
Braun22 noticed the edge is quite rough. So Magdalena is too kind to do an another better version. Merci ! ^^
I changed my first colouring/remix :
- the character is not yellow but more blue (I always used Buttercup's painting),
- added a tiny ball of light in the hat, a text bull (text writted by Magdalena) and the text of Haus Of Glitch,
- for the clock, I put a beautiful texture of Belcath1981.
Hope you like Magdalena, Braun22 and you too, guys !! ^^

How to illustrate this and still make it, um, for lack of a better term, kid friendly? Has been plaguing me non-stop. So I thought I'd throw some brainstorming out there? I keep cycling back to maybe hiding under the covers with a flashlight? And making the flashlight flash, and the boom the clap of hands... or an orchestra, with the boom being a giant sheet of metal being struck, and a conductor moving his baton in between... and then there is this one...? very rough... I tried sharpie-ing the first frame to make it super dark, and that failed mightily... but the idea of the first frame being just a flash of a window pane with a storm outside, and a bedside table with a lamp, and then the second frame being the corner of a bed with a tangled sheet, a body part with a lightening tattoo, cloud print underpants under the bed, and a very smashed lamp (from previous frame) on the floor... if anyone likes the idea and wants to make it look better that would be cool...
My visual interpretation of sexy tiny story about the weather by day glo.
This visual can be interpreted as the gentleman way or the saucy way. Nothing is sexier than a pair of lighting legs wearing heels. Please "heart" this if you want to see more of papercut stories.
PS: From far, the legs actually look like lightning bolts.

"It's called the world wide web," said the spider to the fly.
Saw this tiny story by rayperez in RegularJOE's reRECs and thought I'd try and give my version of it. I decided to use binary but I just wish I knew how to write in it. Then I would of written hitRECord or something over and over on the webbing. Challenge for someone else maybe?
My fly looks resistant to change.

The Sun is such a lonely star. Whenever he comes out to see his friends, they all disappear.
(As a side note- Today marks the 1... |

For KarizzMarie's adorable tiny story.
I only changed the sun to 'she' and not 'he' because for me (and in my language), the sun is female :)
Aww i feel so sorry for the poor sun now D: *cries*
I just saw that there are still pencil lines visible, i editet this on my laptop and it seems the contrast on my laptop is very bright D: *fail*

The physician’s wife was told that an apple a day kept the doctor away.
Each evening she would eat two apples (just to be safe). But much to her dismay, her husband still kept coming home. |

This is REmix RECord using bryn_haz's story and eNgma's drawing. I tweaked the strawberry to become an apple. I think this image is good enough to capture reader's attention without giving too much away.
The physician’s wife was told that an apple a day kept the doctor away. Each evening she would eat two apples (just to be safe). But much to her dismay, her husband still kept coming home. This this is a slightly darker take on the story. Doctors in general scare the hell outta me...! Like that there can be various interpretations of this story :D

Ok I'll admit, I have a few skeletons in my closet; but they weren't skeletons when I put them there. |

An illustration for MadisenMusic's tiny story Hursery. I didn't want to draw something obvious with skeletons so I thought a bit about a setting someone might say this sentence in and came up with this trial scenario.
And it was a good chance to draw a forest of microphones :D

One wanted to share a life together.
The other wanted to share two.
It's been a while since I've seen a tiny story which has stirred so much debate about its possible meaning and created so many interesting ideas from it. It's definitely worth looking at the conversation thread for Joe's story and read some of these.
As far as I know my viewpoint hasn't been taken up by anyone else yet. I saw it as a woman sharing the news with her partner that he's going to be a father.
Turns out I'm a romantic. Who knew?

Ok I'll admit, I have a few skeletons in my closet; but they weren't skeletons when I put them there.
*When I read this tiny story, this is what came to mind.. It's supposed to look like the dude put bodies in his closet, and as a result of spending so much time on hitrecord.org, he forgot about them and they turned to skeletons. I was thinking of having him sitting at the computer with his head turned to the closet but this is what happened instead...Please feel free to remix. This is a rough, rough draft ;) *
before i died by rowrowrow.
just before i died, my life flashed before my eyes.
but it flashed so slowly that i lived it all again.
and again and again.
i got lost in drawing the hair. its meant as pathways and choices in her life kind of like life lines. the rest of it is quite simple and she has an almost smile.
