Hello! My first re-recommendations and I'm a few days late! I really wanted to re-rec these following records so I hope you pardon my tardiness at not getting behind this sooner!
IMAGES:
[Tiny Book of Stories collab]
Numberland version 2 final by rejjie - It's such a witty illustration. A perfect accompaniment to Kavonne's tiny story!
Not Meant to Be by Proi - Grammar humour amuses me, but Proi's tiny story has changed the way I'll look at my 'posessives' ever again.
Shape Sorter Tragic Love (Tiny Story) by totallyjamie - I love totallyjamie's graphics and illustrations but this one has to be one of the cutest tiny stories I've come across.
ILLUSTRATE THIS! rough tiny story idea called "LAWS OF GEOMETRY" by Fractaldust - this may be the raw original 'illustration' but I loved the tiny story and concept!
AUDIO:
Me with Ghostsounds by RECorderBelle - As much as I love wirrow's version, RECorderBelle's vocals makes the record sound impossibly more whimsical, which I love.
Tiptoes by Dwayne Wegley - I strongly recommend Dwayne Wegley's songs. Easy and breezy, with a undercurrent of mellow sentimentality.
Down on 42nd St by Babbish - I lov'em beats :)
You're My Kind, Dancing Babe by Mikeregannoise - I know this is an old record, but it deserves a mention for being so damnably catchy!
My Heart Carries Stones by Amferraro - A beautiful folksy, breezy record!
Sea of Tranquility by JeremyFrancis - Jeremyfrancis tracks are haunting and highly remixable! This was one of my favourites.
Dance-o-rama by Johnny 4 The City - A track I immediately thought would be perfect for remixing for a fairytale animation. Think Fantasia.
The Final Poem (Góða nótt Mix) by Chase_Horseman - I don't know where to start with how much I love this record. A mixture from the contributions to the Row Your Boat and Through The Looking Glass collabs, ChanelyWelly's harmonies are remixed beautifully into this track.
The werewolf // the static light by Tonguecutsparrow - A highly remixable track.
Midnight by Fleurdelys - A beautiful instrumental piano piece that has amazing potential remixing value.
VIDEO:
Ghost Dreams by Librarygirl6 - Librarygirl6 has released a beautiful collection of videos from her family's film collection and I love them!
Wanderer. 3rd Version by MarieIv - There is a reason why this vid is so well loved and it's because its due to the beautiful work of MarieIv, Metaphorest and PASIV. But MarieIv's haunting and evocative animation is breathtaking in its beauty alone.
Owlets animation by Greatflydini - Just adorable!
RE: Cinema - A Shared Experience by ItsPauline - Beautifully edited. Really. <3
Righttoleft Tiny Typography by HelloDough - This motion typography is super neat.
TEXT:
[Tiny Book of Stories collab]
Imaginary friend (tiny story remix) by Librarygirl6 - I would really like to see this story in the tiny book of stories. I loved how this story gave a voice to the imaginary friend.
Find Your Voice by Rochelle Boucher - Essentially about the desire to be heard and be visible, this is one tiny story that isn't easy to forget.
We Are Tiny Stories by Unique Michelle - Her poems are lovely! Short and sweet.
Otitis Media by RECorderBelle - A tiny story that has the potential to spawn many cute illustrations.
Hide and Seek by Featherpetal - A tiny story that tugs. Again, potential for very interesting illustrations to come out of this one.
Tiny Story - Secret Admirer by Dcsweet - 3 words. So many ideas. Pity I'm not an illustrator, but I think it will be fun illustrating this!
Important Mentionables...
These records caught my attention for their sheer cheek!
Littleso- by Blodnasir
The Minimalist by Hardlyreal
Explaining why would just take the fun out of it :P That wraps up my recommends for that week!
i'd do it myself but i've got no skills AND i'm about to ninja off to hawaii... this is an idea i've had in my head for a while, with the circle police arresting some various polygons (a triangle, a square, possibly more) saying "HANDS UP! we've got you cornered" because oh, HA, i'm a math nerd who likes puns... hope someone finds it amusing.
anyway TAKE CARE, ALL OF YOU, see you in a week and a half! and here are some other stories of mine that would love illustrations: http://fractaldust.tumblr.com/post/7548805138/these-tiny-stories-want-you-to-illustrate-them
Um, this is so pretty, I had to sing along (hope you don't mind wirrow :0) <3
ps I cited 'Cities' because wirrow did, though I do see the myself singing this song whilst whiling away hours/minutes in the city.
Hello everyone! I am happy to present "Down on 42nd Street" to you. I hope you like it as much as I do.
i don't know where i've been
i can't recall if i'm wearing thin
i don't mind if i'm lost
i don't mind if i'm tired and frail and lost
i left a man in my wake
resented him for what he had to say
i don't mind that i'm alone
i don't mind that my heart, it carries stones
my heart, it carries stones
i told it all, unedited
i told it all like i remembered it
they interlocked and then they fled
and met again, but the love they'd made was dead
i am no historian
i'm prone to error in the records i give
i am proud of what i feel
i am proud that my skin is tempered steel
my skin is tempered steel
This is a new mix of The Final Poem, sung beautifully by ChaneleyWelly, with strings performed by hamishramsay. This is an off-shoot of Life is But a Dream (Midnight Mix) seeing as it uses the same chord structure and piano. There are a lot of different things going on here than Life is But a Dream (most notably the absence of Row Your Boat . . . ) Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this new(ish) piece!
Things have been difficult for me, lately....So I tried to put all my stress and fear into a song wich is a real challenge and that's what I came up with. Thanks again<3
It's that state where you're not quite awake, but not quite asleep.
You drift in and out of consciousness, not quite sure what's real and what's a dream.
------------
I love light leaks on film. All of the footage is from my family 8mm films (again). I had originally intended on doing something with the footage that had light leaks with "Everything is on Fire" (and may still unless someone else wants to tackle it), but then I heard this and it was just so ethereal, I knew I had to use it. wirrow you are freaking amazing! All of the light leaks are part of the film-not done on my computer.
Metaphorest wrote lyrics and sang - PASIV wrote music - I made animation with the help of hitRecord's huge library of resources - then was made extended version of video - then Joe suggested to add sound elements to correspond with the video - after that Metaphorest and PASIV worked on this Awesome new version of the song Wanderer - then it was send to me and I just added it to the video. Hope I didn't miss anything. Interesting sequence of events :) So, it is the "third edition".
Hi! Let me start off by saying how much I adore these owlets. I'm no animator, but I thought I'd try my hand at making a very basic little animation to go along with Wirrow's text and Pamagotchi's audio. I added a little twist ending.
My brother helped me put it together. Again, not much of an animator, but I thought the idea was kinda fun, so if you think you could do a better job (and you most certainly can) I'd love to see some other people's take on it. Thanks and enjoy :O)
Going through a lot of the audio/video REsources for the RE:Cinema collab, I found that there was a repetition of people talking about going to the movies as a shared experience with strangers/those around you.
That's what I, personally, love about going to the movies; even though you individually get sucked into what's going on, you're still sharing that communal experience with those in the same room.
*I'll upload a version without the background music for remixing soon -- taking forever to upload it. Darn spinning wheel! lol :(
I liked this tiny story, and since I can't draw a picture for it, I did what I do best, a motion typography.
I won't be making records soon, since my software is at home and i'll be going off to college. So I'm going to try to get in as many as I can.

One day she decided she was too old for an imaginary friend. As he faded into the recesses of her mind for one final time, he sighed, "You were always real to me." |
