Okay so a few things here...
1] I have legit been fighting with this illustration (moreso Photoshop) for over an hour and I fear my brain has imploded and fizzled into bits of dust.
2] I warned you people I have a serious obsession with "Through The Looking Glass"...hence why my gal here is dressed a wee bit like Alice <3
3] Holy balls I need a stiff drink after fighting with this bastard all night...*wanders off to hunt up some whiskey*

This is one of my favorite tiny stories. I would love to see it get into the upcoming book, regardless of whose picture goes with it BUT since a picture seems to be a prerequisite for getting into the book and there isn't one yet, I am happy to provide one so it has a shot of getting in TBTSv1. This isn't my original; I altered thisisnotscott's picture.

"Tom was a confused little fellow. Born a fruit, regarded as a vegetable, he never knew where he fit in."
Ah the journey a tomato must go through to truly find himself ; P
Again, I think this could be a potentially funny short animation.
I can't tell you exactly where the "Who am I?" inspiration came from, I just think I can remember seeing snippet montage bits from a show or two (maybe it was a film) where there's a point in the characters life where they just decide to go on a journey of self discovery, and it's shown in black and white and instead of speaking they use boards with writing.... am I making this up?
Anyway I liked the tiny story : )

Yet another illustration for this fantastic tiny story! I was rereading this tiny story the other night while listening to the soundtrack of the Japanese anime "The Garden of Sinners (part 1)" and that's when the idea for this piece came to me (those who have seen the film would probably understand the reason behind this). Oh and I FAIL at perspectives, which I blame entirely on my lack of practice in observational drawings.

An illustration for MadisenMusic's tiny story Hursery. I didn't want to draw something obvious with skeletons so I thought a bit about a setting someone might say this sentence in and came up with this trial scenario.

Alternate title: Faces on a Plane (someone gets a cookie if they spot the anomalous time on a clockperson and know why) Inspired by rayperez' "time zones" tiny story:

From place to place, it kept a steady pace,
but every clock wore a different face..."

I've just found this in basic outline on one of sketch pads, so I've inked it and uploaded it. I must of done it a couple of months back at the earliest and looking at it I knew what I'd intended the title to be. The thing is I don't really remember where I was inspired from - I know it was a tiny story idea but the question is which one? I want to resource whoever it was but I just can't seem to find it. If you recognise the premise or even think it's yours - comment and I'll resource.
Sorry, I know this is a little unusual.

My visual interpretation of Matt Conley's As It Were tiny story. I was inspired by children's ability to let their imagination run wild with a such simple everyday object.
This actually applies to all hitrecorders when looking at simple records like a plain doodle or even a ditty or musical chords, we should let our imagination run wild and use those records to make bigger and better things.

“Many times I tried to reach Happiness... Until I realize... It has never been a destination. Happiness is a path.” My mom showed me a mail wrote by an anonymous that she received few months ago, it's called «Le Bonheur ». It gave me the basic idea for this Tiny Story. The author wrote about how we're waiting for happiness to come one day... We convince ourselves that we're gonna be happy when we'll be grown-ups, when we'll get married, when we'll have a pay rise, when we'll have children, when we'll get retired... Or simply happy when it's gonna be Friday night, Sunday morning, spring, summer... We think that we'll be happy when there will be no more difficulties to overcome, no more debts to pay, no more troubles. One day this person realized that all this obstacles were his/her life. That simple answer made him/her understand that there is no path that leads to happiness. Happiness is the path. Since that day he/she ceased to wait for better days, he/she creates them every weeks, every months by following that path. Sorry for that quality my scanner decided that today was its last day...
Hyuck, hyuck, hyuck.
This was a pun/tiny story I'd doodled out an illustration for about five or six years ago, which I found while thumbing through old sketchbooks. I re-did the drawings to look nicer, laid it out, and voila! I would say this is the worst pun I've ever made, but it's not even the worst pun I've made in the last 24 hours.
Also, I know, I know, the Tiny Book of Tiny Stories is in black and white, but I really wanted this one to have color. If this actually gets selected, I'll go back and re-work it.

An animated version (more like slideshow thanks to the low frame rate) based on my illustration for Sparksee05's "Tiny Breakfast", accompanied by Joe's reading of the tiny story from the HR show at Seattle. Any suggestion for music to go with this?
So... I have been thinking about doing an animation version of this for a while and the original plan I had was to do this over Christmas holiday (when I would have a chance to benefit from my brother's sagely advice). However that plan got thrown out of the window when the boss decided to freak us out by giving us with an invisible deadline :P
I don't know what possessed me to think that I could actually pull this off in such short time frame (1 and a half day), seeing that I have virtually zero experience in animation except for the few odd gifs I have made and the textbook-corner-doodle-animation I did when I was in primary school. The only way I know how to animate anything at the present time is to draw them out frame by frame so that's what I ended up doing and halfway through the process I seriously considered stabbing myself with my Wacom tablet.
Earlier today, Cacheth made an awesome animation of mirtle's drawing, for Dina and RegularJoe's tiny story. She asked if someone could add Pamagotchi's reading - maybe it would fit better with the girl - and so I did this.
The music is a wonderful "Virgin-Suicide-y" little piece by JeffPeff, I absolutely love it and thought it would fit well with the atmosphere (and the spaceship !).
I really am a beginner at editing things (I still use iMovie you know) (haha), so it's not perfect but I'm kind of happy with it. What do you think ?? :)
Tried to do proper lip-synching for the first time, it's not easy. All the sound effects (apart from the voice-over) are from freesound.org
Played around with Eskapurla's animation of MadisenMusic's "Hursery" Tiny Story.
The remix consists of:
* Titles
* hitRECord bumper
* An alternate VO take by RegularJOE
* Movement added to the animation (mainly in press/media cutaways)
* Alternate sound effects (microphone squeel, camera flashes, gavel, coughing in the courthouse, etc.)
* Reverb on the effects
* Establishing zoom-in shot of the courthouse
