a year ago, i joined hitRECord in a grand gesture 'to expand my horizons', etc. It was really an act of weakness-- I couldn't take on paying work anymore because I started dropping things, getting cramps & spasms from doing everyday things, I'd get tremors that'd sometimes last for days. I felt broken, unreliable & false when people wanted to talk shop.

I dunno what I thought it'd be like. I'd never really collaborated before; I thought it meant losing control. Since I was losing that anyway... I uploaded only things made for personal use, things I loved but was never going to get a chance to put them to use. I figured playing around with these RECorder's would placate artist-smartist self.

The word 'small' doesn't begin to describe my thinking, but the word "Tiny" began to have a much better ring to it.

It's been a year; Fibromyalgia looks likely to be the culprit of my deterioration but with no really-for-real answer there is no satisfaction in the knowing this but there is satisfaction in getting this (thank you card & a check, not shown).

I hadn't seen it in print, so I wasn't certain. I hadn't known what I was getting into but then I never really do. I'm a published artist now, I'm handicapped, I am not giving up, I'm frightened everyday, I am certain this is not the end, I am grateful were it to be.

“Many times I tried to reach Happiness... Until I realize... It has never been a destination. Happiness is a path.” My mom showed me a mail wrote by an anonymous that she received few months ago, it's called «Le Bonheur ». It gave me the basic idea for this Tiny Story. The author wrote about how we're waiting for happiness to come one day... We convince ourselves that we're gonna be happy when we'll be grown-ups, when we'll get married, when we'll have a pay rise, when we'll have children, when we'll get retired... Or simply happy when it's gonna be Friday night, Sunday morning, spring, summer... We think that we'll be happy when there will be no more difficulties to overcome, no more debts to pay, no more troubles. One day this person realized that all this obstacles were his/her life. That simple answer made him/her understand that there is no path that leads to happiness. Happiness is the path. Since that day he/she ceased to wait for better days, he/she creates them every weeks, every months by following that path. Sorry for that quality my scanner decided that today was its last day...

A friend's birthday present of DVDs sat all alone on my desk feeling quite under dressed for the occasion. I'm assured that they feel much better now and are ready to be presented to their new owner.

It was suggested that totallyjamie's pattern would also make great wrapping paper.

And it does.

Sorry about the title... I figured "A Mathematical Counterargument to a Popular Tiny Story by RegularJOE and moonbug" wouldn't sound very exciting...

This was made purely for giggles, and also because this was one of the first tiny stories I ever read on hitRECord, and I have secretly been horribly offended on the behalf of circles everywhere for almost a year now.

moonbug and Joe, I hope you find this amusing :'D no hard feelings... but watch out for the circles while you're sleeping, they're pretty mad.

A brief note:I had been debating whether or not to get a record player for the longest time. Would I invest wisely in this? Would I keep buying records? I just didn't know. And then HitRECord had this littlebig special offer for those who pre-ordered RECollection which seemed to push me in the right direction. I regret nothing and I am so happy/proud/all of these great feelings about this book and this record. I am now sitting happily with a bunch of records (including this new one :D). I also have a shiny new RECord button (my first one) and a really, really amazing book.

An absolutely joyous celebratory marvel to behold... my cheeks still hurt from smiling. We all know Ms Lula is a twirling top but who knew Mr N Johnson had such twinkling toes?

My wife and I sat directly behind Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Neil Patrick Harris during their skit.  We had the luckiest seats in the house!  I shot the last 3 and a half minutes of the skit.  Tried to get as many angles as possible.  Sorry for the rough raw ftg.

Well, I feel really bad because I wasn't able to be at the Fall Formal, but I had so much fun yesterday with my dear Hitrecorders at The HR Tiny chat, so I did this record, that unfortunately doesn't show all the fun that we had but at least is something! :o)

Jared and Joe were kind enough to allow me to show up early enough to capture the set -up of all that fancy equipment and the last minute rehersals, I used a special slider that allows you to shoot moving Timelapses.

Thanks Freddy and Misa for all their help I couldn't have done this without them.

if i were going to the fall formal this is what i would wear.

yes that is a duck and no i don't know why i'm holding a hula hoop and no i am not holding a pair of orange testicles those are ear muffs because i am told it will be cold in the theater and no i'm not wearing pants so the ear muffs would be kind of obsolete and yes those are dinosaur feet and yes that is a unicorn horn and clearly i don't understand the purpose of a cumberbun and yes i know that's not really how you spell it and yes those are moustaches on my underpants and no those are not mickey mouse ears they are panda ears and no i cannot explain the hitRECord button band thing on my thigh just go with it.

SO WHO'S GONNA BE MY DATE?

I wasn't able to go to the Fall Formal due to me being only 16 years old and my parents not letting me travel to LA alone.. But, thanks to all the wonderful contributions you guys made, I was able to see what a truly amazing experience the show was. =)

This is a sample of MissAmerica's idea to make a Hitrecord Postcard, to sell it and also using it like advertising. I love the possibility to send it to somebody, from here or from anywhere. I chose one of the images of her collabs, but could be another. Let me know what you think so we can start making those things.

Christmas greetings from the family.

i had so much fun preparing this / making this / setting this up.

i wanted to show some of the great work that has been produced, but also not give too much away. i didn't particularly describe any of the work on the walls because i feel that it will intrigue people more and let them come to the site and discover this world on their own. i tried to keep it as simplified as possible, but still with a lot to look at. and it has indeed been capturing people's attention. we've had sold out shows so far this weekend and everyone has been stopping and looking/reading/watching. it's really quite exciting.

the idea with the linked resources was kind of just to give an impression of how many different people and ideas make one thing. and that really it is always on going.

the projections run on loop the entire time the cinema is open. and with the changing of light throughout the day the colours and visuals change too.

every piece on the wall has a tiny label with the name of the record and the collaborators user name, so they can be looked up.

i hope i've done us hitrecorders proud and that you all enjoy this...and if you live nearby then please ome and see it!

Believe it or not..I was actually working on a 2nd art direction+animation for strawberry bootlaces based on Joe's direction of just pure red line art (like strawberry bootlaces). Since marielv did an excellent job so I've decided to abandon this project and thought I just upload the screenshot of the work.

I really like the indie vibe to this..What a pity that I started this a little too late.

MattConley kindly suggested I challenge myself and try out some different voice characterizations when I do a VO for HR, rather than just recording one version. Anyway, there's so much amazing stuff going on with the Shadows project already, but I thought I'd just jump in anyway. So, this is just the first paragraph of the Prologue, read in ten different ways, each one a bit weirder than the last. Would love to hear back, especially from Attilee and Soupy, if any of these are remotely useful! Here goes:

1. Low, restrained, medium pace, 'normal'.

2. Slightly faster, less low, and more expressive.

3. Upbeat; slightly singsong. Faster, higher.

4. Expressive, fastest. Wide-eyed: kids' book/movie.

5. Low and slow like a wise wizard.

6. Slightly crazy professor.

7. Haunted vicar.

8. Wild-eyed gardener. (With apologies to everybody, from Plymouth to Poplar.)

9. Deranged schoolmaster.

10. Nasal ninny. (Best avoided altogether.)

I know that hitRECord is an 'open-collaborative-production-company', but I sometimes think that title doesn't really sum up everything that hitRECord is about.  There are so many friends that I have made here, and I don't even want to wonder what life would be like if I hadn't joined or if, (god forbid) hitRECord didn't exist...

Anyway, hitRECorders, friends, I made this video for you.  It makes me smile to watch it, and i hope it does the same for you.
