All the RECords I've Hearted for this week.
Joe mentioned kind of vaguely on Vickie's footage that he wanted a more edited-together video for this song, so voila! This is very much a first draft to me, so comments, criticisms, and suggestions are very much appreciated.
Almost a year to the day, here is V2.0 of Everything is on Fire, using the Robo_J REmix.
My Dad taught me this chord when I was really little and he called it the John Lennon Chord.
This is a piece I put together in early-September of 2009.
It was made for fun at a office space/makeshift-RECording studio I was hanging out at. It's been resting peacefully in the catacombs of my "archive" USB and I thought it would be comfy here too :)
Arranging, Programming & RECording ~ meeee
The saxophone is played by my friend Michael Baker. His solo is made of different fragments of him warming up, which I RECorded, cup up, mixed up, and put together.
I figure if you want to use this for anything, go right ahead.
Happy REmixing

All my ums collected from a raw 4 minute 'practice' of what I wanted to say for some Shadow Being suggestions video I have somewhere on HitRECord.

Here's another voiceover for the pile.
This is the first of a series of drawings I am creating.
About 8 months ago when I joined HitRECord, from browsing and getting to know the site I became fascinated with two things:
1. The people I now refer to as "prominent members" of the HitRECord community
and
2. The idea of remixing lots of different things to make one big thing.
So after I finished my exams earlier this summer, I decided to get to work on a series of drawings that would merge the two, whilst also adding a character to it.
This is the first, inspired by our ... leader?... boss? : S I'm not sure how to put it... Oh well, Mr Joseph Gordon-Levitt!
Morgan MM's adventures were the very reason why i wanted to join HitRECord so I thought what better way to articulate that through remixing his 'tosh into this drawing - this was originally done buy hand but I Photoshop-ped in a watch I found.
I spent hours browsing through old records, therefore some of them ended up inspiring me even more.
Bailey
p.s. I love this one so much I've put it up for sale on my redbubble, and if you want to see which drawing is next I've posted the "making of" pictures on my tumblr : )
Ooh and I can't draw arms : S
My babies saw eaneikciv's awesome video this morning and couldn't stop singing the song all day. So, right before bed, I managed to get this snippet. Maybe it will do for something. I know, I know - they should be holding balloons. I'm sure I could get them to do a second take if anyone is interested.

Stormy Hill Poem
I climbed up this rainy hill to put my shaky hand upon this tree.
I had felt loss of life and hoped that it would transfer a feeling of life through me.
I didn't quite make it. I was too drained. It was too far...

This is the second in the set of drawings I have done.
This one - and I hope it's obvious : S - is based on Ms Lexy Hulme aka Lula aka Paintyhands.
I gave her the character of a joker because I kept finding pictures of her (and others) with paint on their noses which I thought was quite funny, and it made me think of clowns in the circus so this is very circus themed. I love this one and a lot of records have inspired me here ; )
Bailey
p.s. here is the drawing done in stages
my parents recently re-decorated their room, and unearthed a shocking amount of art my sister and I made from the ages of 3-8... this is one of the earlier ones that I still think is pretty damn awesome :D
we were supposed to be inking our footprints... but that was too unseemly for me, apparently, so out of my entire kindergarten class, I was the only one to do hands, hah.
might upload some of my drawings, if I work up the courage
I can upload the stems of this if anyone would like...I just really fell in love with Ozie's Strawberry Laces music ^__^

A reading of Two Swans, a poem by smweed
“The question mark grew tired of being so constantly uncertain. One day, he straightened himself out. From then on, he always made his point.”
This is the result of a collaboration between the wonderfully lovely Anicamay and (the usually uselessly lazy) me :D. Well, Anica did most of the job (thank you so much my dear, it has been an exquisite pleasure to work with someone as talented and supportive as you)! She formed the plasticine, made up a story to the tiny story, took the pics etc…I only contributed with some ideas, editing and, of course, weird accent (it has come to my ears that native English speakers regard accents as being “cute”, which instantly made me forget every phonetics class I ever took). <(^_^<)
I missed hitrecord,I haven’t really been around lately…I’ve been through Hell (master thesis, graduation, career) and I’m in Heaven now (sun, pool, beach, clubs and even a little love-juuuust a little:). But I can’t wait to settle down and come back to you, miss you so much! \\(^0^)//
I hope you all will have a great, sunny-cool summer! Lots of hugs and even more kisses! <(^_^)>
P.S. I will add the resources as soon as possible, please bare with me and thank you so much for these wonderful songs!!!!!!

I've been meaning to upload some preshow footage for ages now but I've been ridiculously busy in work. So here's a little remix of some of my footage and and preshow footage I found on the site! :D
I was commissioned to make this lantern for a show in the Edinburgh Fringe festival and couldn't resist the opportunity to create a stop motion based around the making of. This would not have been possible without my very good friend and constant crafting companion, Sarah (freetobe), who sacrificed an (admittedly wine-soaked) evening to help film. She also solved all the technical hitches that cropped up along the way as I tried to figure out what the hell I was doing. And a huge big thank you to missamerica for writing such a perfect little ditty for this.
It is my very first stop motion and it shows but the overall effect is one of which I'm very proud. Hope you enjoy!
Et voilà!!!!! so Metaphorest wrote those lovely words for horrorshock's drawing and I used them as lyrics for this song that I composed last night. Hope you enjoy it.
Again by heart.
Didn't get the blues for this until I saw Marielv's brilliant "Into Midnight", "Man With the Herringbone Hat", Boxcar Willie-esque video.
Recorded a little song on the uke for Crane_crafter...and for your REmixing pleasure!!

from my great aunt's very old photo album (circa early 1900s). i've been slowly coloring this in, playing with different textures and color schemes, but thought maybe you all would like to play at it too, or maybe it could inspire a little story (love the expression on the boy's face...) i think a bunch of different versions would be grand!
A hip-hop beat constructed out of samples from ruary's "Black Sponge." This is a base layer that can be extended with new sounds or arrangements or it can be added to as is.
I love this song of Spaceship's so just added some harmonies. <3

I know Joe wanted an animated film, but I wanted to see what I could do with this as well. I still think it could use some adjustments, but I like the idea of it starting small with something like catching fireflies to trying to contain the whole universe in a pickling jar and then coming back in again (I don't know, maybe I've been watching Powers of 10 too many times), but I think ozie's piano piece fits this idea perfectly.
Let me know any comments/criticisms/suggestions you have.

I cannot believe that I have been a HITRECORDER for 1 whole year! It feels like I just signed up actually! Well it has been an amazing ride and I cannot wait for whats to come! Thank you to everyone who has inspired me throughout this year! I have never felt such beautiful creative energy before in my life! HitRECord means so much to me and its an honor to share and create with all of you! Here's to many more years of creating and collaborating!

So, I've been absent for a while!
This is the first couple of scenes of what will hopefully turn into a documentary (that I'm making with Megan Carnes) about the creative process with you guys!
What I need from you:
What we need is for you to replicate the 'idea' (which is the trash deco font at 96 size font http://cargocollective.com/themadeshop/1120354/Trash-Deco-Typeface) and then just colour it and/or draw on it however you want. Then pass the paper from left screen to right screen as if you're handing it off. just make sure you do it sorta slowly so people can see it :) In addition, you can start talking about the creative process for you in the same way. Lots of metaphors and stuff. And or.... you could do something like Arin did for us and film yourself finding the paper: http://hitrecord.org/records/462695
Here is the collab for it http://hitrecord.org/records/462849

I wanted to make a little showcase of what Hitrecord creates and what we are about. I rushed it a little and I'm not sure if I'm feeling the goofy voice I added to this. Maybe someone will find it entertaining, thats what I was going for lol. I'm going to create another one I think with a more regular tone and deff add somethings. And I'm missing a few resources but I will add them as I find them.

I LOVE this track by Malicore. ^__^
Nameless, oh nameless little wonder
You're walking all over my heart
Lovely, how lovely you are
My reason, my thinking, my dreaming's all falling apart
Won't you come on over here little darling,
Won't you pour your sweet nothings in my ear
You're shining like a penny and you're my lucky charm
Oh little darling won't you sidle over here
Sleepless, sleepless nights have been passing
As I fill my head with dreams of you
Wishing, and hoping, for something
A look in, I'm longing, oh darling won't you please
Won't you come on over here little darling,
Won't you pour your sweet nothings in my ear
You're shining like a penny and you're my lucky charm
Oh little darling won't you sidle over here
Won't you come on over here little darling,
Won't you pour your sweet nothings in my ear
You're shining like a penny and you're my lucky charm
Oh little darling won't you sidle over here
Drinking song about multi-lingualism. Mispronunciations guaranteed. Grapefruit for all.
It would take far too long to describe the intricate details of how this song came to be. Simply know that it involved sketch comedy, international politics and the planet Jupiter.
"Je ne sais quoi" is French for "I don't know what"
"Jamba" is Swahili for the air in your gut
"Misdadig" is Dutch for one who's hung from a noose
And "grapefruit" is English for-
Un pamplemousse!
Deux pamplemousse!
Mon pamplemousse!
Votre pamplemousse!
"Gott in himmel" is German for of what I dream
"Christiano" is Italiano for "Goyim"
"Forno" is Portugese for where you put a goose
And don't forget, "Grapefruit" is just English for-
Un pamplemousse!
Deux pamplemousse!
Mon pamplemousse!
Votre pamplemousse!
Lo siento, pero no recuerdo mucho Espanol
Porque I learned it all ___ anos ago
Pero hay una cosa que you recuerdo muy bien
And that, of course, is how to say "This is my pen."
Eso es mi pluma!
Esto es tu pluma!
Alli esta muchas plumas,
Pero aqui esta mi pluma!
Un pamplemousse!
Deux pamplemousse!
Mon pamplemousse!
Votre pamplemousse!

So here is a little tutorial I made for exporting video using Final Cut and imovie. I know I had a lot of trouble figuring this out when I first started editing so I thought I would share my knowledge.
Also I think it would be nice if we all exported our videos into MP4's or at least a file type that can be played on both Mac and PC. Converting videos is kind of a pain.
Hope you can take something from this that will help you on your video editing and exporting journey.
Enjoy.
1 Year On HitRECord today ^__^
So, I went back to the sight of one of my earliest RECords and did a bit of reminiscing.
You people mean the world to me. Thank you so much for this incredible 12 months. I cannot believe what a journey it has been. Who knows what dreams may come in the next 12.
Love you all, forever endeavor <3
This song inspired me to see the world in a different way today. It's beautiful! Red Light... stop and ponder... Green light... keep on going.

I'm not the world's fastest writer, and am already on a bit of a block, so I decided that the best way for me to update the Shadow Beings story I'm futzing about with is to alternate between chapters (yes, it's that kind of story >_o) and illustrations. :D
also, I'm leaving today for vacation, and am turning 20 on tuesday, so this is a little good-bye for the next 10 days, and a fake-birthday-thing. <3
