Records I found inspirational this week.
this is a song a song a song i made :D
I gathered a bit of lyrics from a facebook thred...I asked my friends for suggestions and got some cool inspiration. Sort of hitrecord inspired really. Sometimes I feel like I have too much goin on
listened to lizzienrose's record and could not get it out of my head. picked up a few instruments (viola, drums, glockenspiel, etc) and had a little fun.
Continuing to build off of lava_tornado's "feet first" and Babbish's "Battlin Beats." There's a verse by me in the middle. I decided to call this version "BATTLEstars" because I added some science fiction elements for whatever reason.
I basically integrated my verse into the "Battlestar Beat" RECord (REsourced below) but I did trim down a section of that and added some slight modifications, namely a ray gun sample from www.sounddogs.com.
This needs something or lots of things but I'm not sure what! Please go crazy! :) I'll upload stems presently!
I was sailing in the bathtub
I didn’t have an oar
I was shouting for the captain
But he was overboard
On the bathroom floor
I was flying in a bubble
Floating on the breeze
But I knew I was in trouble
When it drifted into the trees
To the taunts of the passing bees
Where have I come from?
Where am I going?
There's no way of knowing, no.
Should I shuffle this way?
Should I run that way?
Captain come and steer this boat
I was swimming in a soup bowl
'til I got out of my depth
Then I clung on to the bread roll
So I could catch my breath
But I haven't caught it yet
All the king's men couldn't fix me
I'm a faulty Rubik's cube
I'm a second-hand shop jigsaw
With a missing piece or two
Impossible to conclude
Where have I come from?
Where am i going?
There's no way of knowing, no.
Should I shuffle this way?
Should I run that way?
Captain come and steer this boat

This is me singing along with Megan's beautiful piano cover of wirrow's 'the atom song'
while working on a REmix of "the prize," i got this riff in my head. so i put prize on hold and worked on this.
sampled a bit of Lava Tornado and another tasy find from GwenInterrupted's trusty loop collection.
Guitar, Bass, Arrangement ~ meeeee
rather than sit around with it, i'm sharing it in its "rough draft" state. or whatever.
i'd love to get someone doing a nice hip hop flow to it. or something of that nature.
tbc.
this is why i hit RECord.
<3
This RECord can now be heard on the HitRECorderly #3 Vinyl (released Summer 2012) as "Diamond in the Rough"

My daughter found the party supply stash in my craft cabinet and has been bringing me a new balloon to inflate every couple hours for three days straight. This is the end result. I was planning to just upload the raw footage, but then I realized that the song "Once Upon A Balloon" would be perfect for it! And I've never done stop motion before, so we'll just call this trial and error, but I thought it turned out alright!
fun fact - that's the piano that was used to record this little song!
