I had wanted to make a visual representation of my story, Oliver and the Confidence Wig. This is what I came up with. However, that wig isn't quite what I had in mind in the story, I actually kind of like it so I used it.

I love this drawing and discovered it today through Larsene's re-recs... I spend all day on this...not that happy about it....but still wanted to post it because I wont be able to post anything for a little while because I'll be on vacation...

as interpreted by me for the "out of character" collab .. i mentioned to penelope that her poem made me think of reciting this in a "tough guy" persona kind of way... and thought it would be cool to try to remix RECords that might seem "out of character" ...you know, reading or acting out records in an unexpected way... i don't know. it might work :)

I added this to the Amoeba poster collaboration because initially it had a good response. 

It seems to capture the essence of looking forward to looking back at our past accomplishments.

So here's another of TotallyJamie's cut outs animated. I had a little trouble figuring out how to animate this one, but it worked out. 

Ok my first silhouette animation done in after effects! Please be kind. It took me 3 days to go over tutorials and figure things out.

If you like this, I will do more of it in the future. I think this format is great for shadow caste and many more..

Okay... I love this piece. Its so cute... Well, at least the way I edited it together. It uses Day Glo's and Michal's vocals, and an animated orchestration. I imagine this as a cartoon-like intro of some sort. With Nothing as a clumsy character walking in open white space, carrying a bucket of darkness... he trips and the universe explodes out into everything :) Fun.

One year ago I joined HitRECord and, honestly, it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I know I haven’t recorded so much, but that’s because it is the last year of school and I am really busy :/ I wish I had time to collaborate more, but everyday I try to visit HitRECord for at least five minutes to see what you have been creating. I’m glad I found this website and got the chance to see all of your fantastic records :D You, hitRECorders, you are great artists, so keep doing what you do, because it is pretty amazing!

With HitRECord I also learned to celebrate every tiny progress and victory. I’ve seen that something small can be remixed into something big, and that every tiny part is important, and that is why we must celebrate them… And, talking about celebrating, right now I am celebrating my first HitRECord anniversary with an ice cream! :D

The cover art for a collection of children's stories I've been working on that revolve around superficial judgement. "Pinstriped Shelle" is one of those stories (see resources)...

This is a little story about a cat who can't find anyone to play music with until a friendly little bee boy tells him about a far away land called Hitrecordia.

This was originally the intro to my ReREC video but I was asked to upload it as a seperate record, so here it is.

Oh and all of the sound effects I used that aren't resourced were all royalty free sound effects that I got when I bought the Final Cut Pro bundle.

Here is an updated version of the previous "Shadow Beings Collaboration (teaser)" with an added "coming attraction" title card, some sound effects, and less BFI audio toward the end.

Extra thanks to missamerica for providing some great constructive criticism on the first version regarding the audio at the end. I agree with her 110% in that it works best without the final sound byte, leaving more emphasis on the narrtion and its content.

I was playing around, trying to write a tune for hitrecord and realised the melody I had made was very similar to the MMM themetune, so I randomly made this. Dunno exactly what it could be used for, but hey, enjoy ;D

OK, so I would first like to give you a little bit of background to my reasoning in creating this. Yesterday, I found out that my brother has been accepted to Sandhurst. This is the British Officer Training Academy for the British Army. All of a sudden, what we have all seen for many years on the television was filtering into my my own life. In what might be as little as 18 months, my brother would be putting his life on the line, leading men into a warzone. There is no way that I can hide behind the flimsy shield of a television screen anymore. Although I may not support the reasons why I country may choose to go to war, I am firmly behind the people who, when the decision has been made, gather their belongings, say goodbye to their families and take a step into unknown peril. They walk, heads high, into the Inferno.

I studied Dante's "Divine Comedy" at university, and the horror that Dante describes as he descends into Hell leaks off the page into your mind. His words ring home even now, when we recall the images of war that have been broadcast over the past century.

"The woeful people who have lost the good of the intellect"

I really don't want this line to be misinterpreted. What Virgil is describing are the souls who could not put their faith in something in life: they are doomed to spend eternity chasing a white flag, unsure of where to go. I do not want people to think that I consider the soldiers "The woeful people", devoid of intellect. They are not. What I mean to say is: when the power of the word is no longer enough, primal instinct kicks in: and there are those chosen few who are designated to defend us. I do not deny that this video is depressing. Perhaps it is too pessimistic: I have always wanted to work with Dante's writings, and the horror of war is something that although we may have not witnessed it directly, we have all been indirectly influenced by it. It has, unfortunately, become somewhat of an everyday occurence.

 "Abandon all hope, all ye who enter here"

These are perhaps some of the most famous lines written by Dante. The world is not a perfect place. And there are times, yes, when even the best of us lose hope. But as Virgil says; we must put aside our distrust and arm ourselves with courage: for it is up to us to be the change. This idea was partly inspired by Wirrow's "And a new earth". Wirrow's video challenges us to look beyond the 4 walls of what society deems to be "the norm", and look out, branch out. But to be the GOOD in the world, when there is so much distress, hardship and pain...that is the real challenge.

This is what I saw, when I closed my eyes.

In my mind it was also moving.

The ghost was still but the world around him was sharp,

Today I had an idea. The idea was a man who found a way to create winter. He would make electric snowflakes, electric blizzards, elecrtric ice, all using his invention to create a winter wonderland whenever he chose. This song is about the first time he ever turned his machine on

i've been way too busy with a summer job and my senior thesis film for school (which will be slowly killing me until may), but i've been meaning to find more time to hit RECord. looking through my old recommendations, I saw soupy's "temple" and thought, "i want to see that move" ...so here it is moving just because.

So I've been working on this for the past few days.

I've been on here for a year on monday so this is to celebrate that :oD

I remixed one of the photos I am working on for a show in my home town. I have finished 60 pieces so far and this is a remix of one ;)

I had fun playing with my brush pen today.  I love seeing the texture it brings out.  Also cloud shapes are fun to mess with as long as you keep'em simple and not too busy they distract from the image as a whole.
