A girl thinks she has found the greatest thing ever in her latest purchase. Its the newest way to get around but is it The Next Big thing or just the same old thing hiding behind a gimmick?
Shot using a combination of live action and Stop motion.

I've been wanting to do something for the Little Red Riding Hood collab for a while, but hadn't quite found a place to fit in. Flockofword's "Lessons that Lessen Us" provides a perfect opportunity. It aslo gives me a chance to musically comment on some issues dear to my heart. Here's to freedom of expression and being. Enjoy.

...here's an orchestral suite of musical themes inspired by several images form the Shadow Caste collaboration. I will reference them and perhaps you can tell which goes with which. This was a lot of fun, to make this... looking forward to dong more.
....there's one record I can't find, the one about Umbreo. But yeah... that idea inspired the last movement especially.
:)
Final??
Added phen's awesome narration, new green screen footage, totallyjamie's amazing test animation, and titles.
I should mention that this is for Proi's presentation about hitRECord at Podcamp on Sunday (see the collab), hence the titles at the end.
p.s. The site isn't letting me add all of the resources I used, so please see the 's-berry b'laces' album for all of the images/music/videos
With Jana's help (she's god sent), I was able to make the strawberry bootlaces packet less floaty and seamless on joe's hand. I have integrated her work as well as did some masking on the earlier scene. I also substituted the old packet with melonberri's work. The rest of animation remains the same.
Thank you all for helping me out to complete this version!
Strawberry Bootlaces
I'm pretty bad at writing descriptions as you can see.
...okay, here's the high res version. I have to give a big hitRECordian shoutout to James Witcher Films for rendering the full 1080p version, which was too big to upload as mov. This mp4 should work nicely for remixes though. Enjoy!
Some of the resource titles are not coming up in the search, so for a complete list... visit
Wow. I really felt like I was at the movies with this one. Shout out to Wirrow and Metaphorest for such an awesome story, and to Joe for such a cinematic reading. This underscore is done after the Prokofiev Peter and Wolf tradition with solo clarinet representing Hevn, and the solo cello representing Urth... synth for story spirits, and the orchestra for everything else. Do enjoy this. ...and ANIMATE, ANIMATE!... either animate or do it like Spike Jonze's "Where the Wild Things Are".
...also shout out Kittypimms for the Stained Glass video, whcih not only introduced me to Joe's reading and the Hevn story, but gave me a great mountain visual...
Suddenly felt inspired tonight...

Okay, here's two cues for the Blue Dildo collab per request of the Regularity himself. Hopefully this works.
Ummm, just a few notes: this is mean to spliced, for the love letter, animation/dildo reveal, and it could also work for the stalker in the house... the very last rock out was added just because :) (End credits maybe).... enjoy!
Shout out to chigwinkle, though not inlcuded in the track, the love cue was scored to first take of his voice overs.
I'm defintely open to adjusting this... for visuals or whatever. I'm too happy with the mix, but my ears are rocked out so... LOL... this'll do for the now. Call it the first draft.
This piece is inspired by Lawrie Brewster's illustration Joe VS the Copyright Bots. You can see it here; http://hitrecord.org/records/488242 . Originally, I wanted to score a battle scene, but it turned out to be a pre-battle theme. Maybe for both sides? You tell me...
I added LizRECord's blackbook illustration, because a similar image was also in my head at some point writing the piece... it came in toward the end.
I know I'm late... but I just like discovered Joe's song "Words We're Wailing", watching the videos from the last shows. Poignant.
Either way, I hadn't originally intended to put vocals at the beginning of this. But after one too many frustrating takes, I just ended singing to calm down. And I decided to keep it with the piano rendition that followed. Enjoy the arrangment.
stop-motion papercut of the hitRECord logo. i really love this quiet moment in ozie's Summer Stars, so i've used a couple chords in the music for this.
i've been planning on doing this for weeks, how glad am i that i didn't get to it til after the logo change!
For the Recollection Cover Art Animation...here's the extended version... a full 5 minutes. I figured the animation was that long, so the piece should match (duh), so I added a bridge to the repeat.
Here you will hear Day Glo's "Strawberry Bootlaces" piece underscored by me playing piano. Love the British accent; hope the score is as loveable. Interestingly, I've actually lived the scenario so eloquently narrated... quite true to life, it is. Every bite.
I love this piece... poignant, contemplative, and with its own brand of inspiration. So, I added a piano underscore. Hope you like it. Enjoy.
Okay... I love this piece. Its so cute... Well, at least the way I edited it together. It uses Day Glo's and Michal's vocals, and an animated orchestration. I imagine this as a cartoon-like intro of some sort. With Nothing as a clumsy character walking in open white space, carrying a bucket of darkness... he trips and the universe explodes out into everything :) Fun.
Inspired by yes-you-am's cool logo animation I decided to try my hand at stop motion and hand stitched the hitrecord logo.
Okay, this is a remix of Totally Jamie's animation with an alternate score composed by me. Still with Day's vocals. I'd love to get your thoughts. Apologies for the low-res sound and video, 3rd generation. Perchance, it'll get remixed with the orignal video.
:) ...I found you in the key of D.
I wrote this inspired by Maliboo's illustration, which I really dig for all the apparently awesome reasons. http://www.hitrecord.org/records/451930/forum

...if you remix this, turn the bass DOWN a little.
Positive Notes for Joel. Thanks for being part of the community, welcome. I admit I usually go right to the last page when I pick up a Time magazine.
Thought I'd toss a "show not tell" in the mix. Thanks Ozie for the footage!
Nice piece... I added some piano. Tell me what you think.
This song inspired me to see the world in a different way today. It's beautiful! Red Light... stop and ponder... Green light... keep on going.
A Story in Wishes
When I made the request for 11/11/11 wishes, I genuinely thought I would have a handful of responses to play around with in the short time I had available. To my utter delight, nearly 90 responses later, I have cut together what I hope is a fitting tribute to the words and wishes of a varied and talented group of HitREcorders.
In the end, the success was my downfall: I simply didn't have enough time to fully carry out the idea I had in the short space of time. But the more I edited the wish videos, the more I realised that in fact the videos speak for themselves: they speak of hope, courage, remembrance, sadness, fear, happiness, determination. My little collage, my little fingerprint in bringing you all together in a single picture became an after thought.
To everyone who contributed, my very deepest thanks. Your courage and inspiration were truly wonderful to work with.
My 11/11 wish is for this community to keep spreading it's wings, and to forever endeavour to create, achieve and inspire.
I hope that, even in some small measure, all your wishes come true <3
PS: on a lighter note, I hope no one is creeped out by my red stained hands [paint] and the fact that I have lots of your faces on a wall gathered round a bright red circle! <3
PPS: currently trying to resource LOTS of names, some of whom sent videos by email and I wasn't sure of their HitREcord name. If you sent me a video and don't see a resource, please let me know! I used every single one I received :D <3
A small train journey from black and white to colour.
firstly, thanks to lidan for the vinyl heart logo. very creative and very cute.
secondly, ozie is brilliant. i mean, have you heard his music?! even the first thirty-something seconds of this song is incredibly touching. huge fan of all your pieces!
thirdly, this is the classic tale of someone who had a bit of free time and decided to dabble around with imovie for the first time (cue gasp?). cheesy as the moral of the record may be, i had fun creating and editing the vid itself.
if it looks like i cloned my fists, that's because i did... hope my photoshop skills were up to par!
fourthly, a bit of profanity, hope yall don't mind. thanks!
One year ago, I decided to ditch one of my classes, and go to a live event that the University of Maryland was putting on.
This was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
This year has been one of the best of my life, and I love you all so very much. Here's to many more years to come. <333
And now, without any further ado....
