This week I’m re-recommending albums and collaborations that might be useful for all the new members on the site to start remixing.

LEARN 

The HitRECord Academy by filmpunk, and HitRecord Film Workshop! Tips 4 U! by Lawrie Brewster: 2 collaborations dedicated to give you valuable tips on mainly video editing & image remixing.

VISUALS 

Stock Footage Collab! by crispyfuller, and Stock Footage Collab by may mcdonough: collections of raw video footages for editing purposes.

The hitrecord Library by gweninterrupted: this “main index” page leads you to further albums of compilations, including videos, photos and public domain material.

Backgrounds / textures collab by RegularJOE, including the very popular Backgrounds & Textures album by Belcath1981. For image remixing: backgrounds that serve as bottom layers, or give textures to drawings.

Abstract Moving Backgrounds (collab) by cerebis: cool abstract video footages.

Candy Store - Stock Footage Dept. (album) by ntheon: this seems like a slightly older collection of video clips but nevertheless useful for editors.

Time Lapses by SFBakstad: she’s the queen of time lapse footages here so go to her page where you’ll find a lot of gorgeous videos like this (sorted in albums).

The Collected Works (4 albums) by Éliante: she collected beautiful pictures from all over the site and sorted them by color, which can come handy for image remixing.

SOUNDS

HitRECord Music Collection (collab) by KamPAIGN: a collaboration to all musicians wishing to remix music.

Hip Hop Collection (collab) by KamPAIGN: since the above mixed collaboration “is getting full” (according to KamPAIGN) this one is now dedicated to hip-hop.

Hip-Hop (and other) Beats (collab) by BenWiley4000: not only hip-hop beats: drum loops, bass lines, combinations, etc.

HitRECord Music Loops (album) by gweniterrupted: a giant collection of music loops for music editors.

Sound Effects / FX (collab) by gweninterrupted: only non-music sound effects. (This collab needs more records so add yours too.)

Tiny Sounds (collab) by megancarnes: for all sorts of NOISE.

Candy Store - Background Music Dept. (album) by ntheon: a big compilation of great background music from all over the site.

public domain sounds (album) by aszarkowski: very useful PD sounds for any kind of editing.

PLUS

Public Domain suggestions by RegularJOE: add to or remix from this huge collection of public domain materials: videos, text, music, sounds, etc.

I’m sure there are many more organised resources on hR but I thought this might be enough for now. However, if you noticed that I left something crucial out, please let me know and I can add it later.
