Classical guitar track
Feel free to chop it up, seven minutes is kind of a long time for just one guitar :p
listened to lizzienrose's record and could not get it out of my head. picked up a few instruments (viola, drums, glockenspiel, etc) and had a little fun.
"The Abandoned Clock Tower"
still working on this but, i needed something up here.
i just took my original piano piece and ran it through some effects to sound like an old nes game.
Just completed this one. Very fun loving. Will add lyrics upon request. Just say the word.
Hop, skip around town now
Hop, skip around town now
Go down to the market
Go down to the marquee
See what is playin'
What is everybody sayin'?
Hop, skip around town now
Hop, skip around town now
Hop, skip around to the beat of
Hop, skip around to the beat of
Go down to the market
Go down to the marquee
See what is playin'
What is everyone sayin' about it?
Hop, skip around to the beat of
Hop, skip around town
Hey hitRECord!
This is my first upload! Just a little piano instrumental (with effects). Hope you enjoy!
Seriously. Try to frown. It's annoyingly impossible.
A simple track of me humming Silent Night.
delete
so... it's saturday, i'm bored, and this original tune was just begging for a little harmony and snappy fingers.
Water floats around my head
Water floats around my head
Clouds move in and hide the sun
I close my eyes and take a breath
A lark is singing overhead
You say "Yes, we're sinking now,
But can you hear that wondrous sound?"
Ooh
We're sinking now
We're sinking down
We're sinking now
We're sinking down
I close my eyes for one last breath
A lark is singing overhead
You say "Yes, we're sinking now,
But can you hear that wondrous sound?"
I love the new words that Rochelle Boucher added to her Tiny Story! Sadly, my sweet little 3-year old daughter will need lots of practice before she can remember the words and sing along to this longer version, but she knows the 1st verse by heart now, she's even better than me! I'd still love to see a tiny film or animation come from this song or the tiny tune version if anyone feels up to it!
EDIT: There are a lot of awesome REmixes that take this song to a whole other level, go check them out!
I loved wirrow's "things" tiny story and illustration, so I used it to write another tiny tune. I would love love LOVE to have this remixed, harmonies, instruments (especially where the vocals have just ended) oohs and ahhs, background noises, whatever you feel like doing. If anyone's interested, I could try to get a better recording without so much background noise. And stems. Just lemme know :)
CHORDS are G and B Minor
Written on a Nintendo Game Boy.
I haven't had much time to work on this so there hasn't been many changes. Nothing more than eq tweaking. I got rid of the glitch effect on the drums towards the end that pamagotchi rightly disapproved of. I would like to request of pamagotchi perhaps to rerecord the vocals. Maybe two new versions. Not necesarly completely different versions. I would just like to hear the different inflections that are inherent when working on something and then returning to it later on. If you could do one one day and another someother day. I will upload an instrumental track as well.
I love the Idea of a song that would sound the same played backwards or forwards.
Sorry Its been so long.
Rainy days are good but rainy slepless nights are better..... so are TIC-TAC's. They helped a lot to compose this song. It's quite REpetitive but I hope you will enjoy it and who knows REmix it. Again by heart <3.
Et voilà mes chéris...I REmixed Reverie poem into a song. I hope you like and maybe REmix it too^_^. Again by heart <3
Et voilà mes chéris...A compostion of mine: piano, pizzicato strings and ukulele. I asked Mademoiselle Lula to help me with the title and she did, but as I was RE_working on it, I thought of her so I added the ukulele and picked a title with her name in it. Hope you guys will like it ^_^. Again by heart <3
Thank you, Elleraiseshell. Inspiring drawing. Inspiring interview.
LYRICS:
long day at work and the house is a mess
you wait for the day to be done
what do you do when you're under such stress
you speak words of love
love in its purest and simplest of forms
is something best shared with a touch
cuddling close to keep ourselves warm
we share words of love
we share them together
but is it enough
through all kinds of weather
we need words of love
flat on her back in a red party dress
she'd much rather go for a run
she sets out to do what she knows she does best
she speaks words of love
This is a song I wrote as an intro for a short film a friend of mine is doing. I hope you all like it, it was a lot of fun to make
I thought I would post this little sample of some laughs I started playing around with. You can still contribute laugh tracks to the collab! The more I have to work with the better!
I was searching for some samples to just play around with, and Ryan Patrick suggested this beautiful recording of Metafictionist singing "Dans Un Bois Solitaire." So I started glitching it a bit, testing it out, seeing what we could do. This RECord (1.1) contains some sample glitches/arrangement, followed by beat samples without vox, followed by acapella vox glitches. I'd love to see some things added, even different drums, instruments and vocals layered in. I'm really open to letting this one organically develop. Let's see where this one goes! (PS: I read up on my translations from the French and I tried to glitch in appropriate ways...but if I jacked something up in French, please let me know so I can try something new.)
This is the "Electric Loss" Master.
We need a RADIO EDIT of this version between 2:30 - 3:00 in length.
The "Electric Loss" Music Video will then be edited to the Radio Edit Remix.
==
Please contribute all "Electric Loss" Radio Edits here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/873508
Well, I was supposed to be doing homework so I did this instead (hehe)
I took a bit of inspiration from what has been contributed all ready to the childhood collaboration. And used Ryan Patrick's awesome Dance with no Pants.
I couldn't find JamesB's contribution but I used his "My childhood was always one of laughter and fun" line. I will try to find it after the release and revise the cited sources.
Total kids song. :)
Thanks everyone for the great material! This was a lot of fun for me. And please if anyone wants to add stuff or take shit out and remix, let me know and I'll upload the stems! I imagine a chorus of children's voices and sound effects!

IMAGINATION WORLD - lyrics
My best friends and I would go on the greatest adventures
We travel through jungles on our way to find hidden treasures
We sneak through the greatest museums in galaxies far away
We’d trek across landscapes, battling evil with super powers
These are the best adventures that I’ve had
Giggles and tickles and racing down paths
My childhood days were spent full of such fun
In my own little world that I call Imagination, Ha ha!
The outside of the house was a dull yellow that needed to be painted badly
There was an unfinished screen porch that had been put off for the last 2 months
But these things, were not important
For inside a fierce battle rages on.
Kel Owens is reaching the top of a snow capped mountain
He has been hunting the elusive Yeti
The wind whips at his face
The cold chills him to the bone, but he just smiles
For he knows he is close
He can smell the musk of the Yeti’s hide
He can just see over the top of a peak the mouth of a cave
Now he stands in front of it taking a glance back down the traitorous mountain he has just scaled
He takes a few steps forward….
A low growl that sends a chill up his spine emits from the cave
As he moves to enter the cave, not knowing or caring what danger awaits him….he pauses…
Kelvin, dinner!
G.I. Joes and Barbies, Lincoln logs and Garden’s
Dressing up the dog in cabbage patch doll clothing
Listening to grandpa tell the same old stories
Smells of chocolate cake are cooking in the oven
Rainbow bright and bright lite, stories with a flashlight
Pillow fights, fireflies, mosquito bite and fireflies
Building sandcastles and magic shows
Playing hide n’ go seek and shouting out ready or not here I come!
I’m ready, you ready, I’m ready, hello?
Ready or not here I come (giggling)
These are the best adventures that I’ve had
Giggles and tickles and racing down paths
My childhood days were spent full of such fun
In my own little world that I call Imagination
(A better-sounding remastered version can be found in the results)
Drum loop taken from calahan's "When We Were Young" (aka gweninterrupted's "drum loop 14").
Let's move to California
Get a place in Hollywood
Go to bars that the stars
Are known to frequent
And get their autographs
(We'll get some money out of it)
We'll stay up late every night
And make believe
There are no obligations
We'll roam the town
And say we're celebrities
(And friends of Joseph Gordon-Levitt)
It won't take long
Til they know our names
Til we burst in flames
All over Tinseltown
We'll be cast
In all the big productions
Objects of attraction
Singing all the way to the bank
They won't be able
To call us idiots
Anymore
We'll be adored
We'll be wine
We'll be acid
We'll be all they're craving
Packaged neatly and massively sold
When Hugh fuckin' Laurie
Is my best mate
They will be sorry
(Oh man, will they be sorry!)
They always made us wait
And laughed at us behind our backs
And when we do lines
With Charlie Sheen
All those assholes will be green
(May their envy consume them!)
They will eat us
They will drink us
They will crave and need us
Like a drug they could never afford
They will eat us
They will wine and feed us
Nowherevillians arise
From the gutter to the skies!
When Hugh fuckin' Laurie
Is my best mate
(So get your lazy ass out of bed
Pack a bag
And let's do it!)
They will be sorry
(Oh man, will they be sorry!)
They always made us wait
And laughed at us behind our backs
And when we arrive
At our old school
All the haters
Will fuckin' drool!
And when we are down
And feeling blue
We can tell ourselves
We're no longer me and you
This is the stereo mix recorded directly from our sound desk at hitRECord's Fall Formal show in Los Angeles, CA on October 10th, 2011.
All of the audio was mixed by R. Walt Vincent.
The levels are a little off in some places for the voices. I'm sorry, I was too lazy to mess with them. So I will upload the music alone in another record
Short snippet of a creepy tune. An excerpt from a larger song I once wrote about halloween!
Had a moment of inspiration and recorded this today. Came up with the arrangement on the spot, and hit record, mistakes and all!
She has it posted under her account as well: http://hitrecord.org/records/591052
Arranged by Erin Maughan and myself. Inspired by the beautiful version that Eva Cassidy played(go listen to it!).
Erin on Viola and Violin. Me on Bass and Gutiar.
Ps. Keep listening after the first verse, its not over! :)
A song I wrote and recorded on my lovely little mac! :)
Metaphorest beautiful poem put to music. The guitar, vocals, cello and shaker were done by myself and the other shaker and the drum was done by my brother Dougie Mackie aka Fameless. Producer: Dougie Mackie Recorded through a radio Mic I couldnt find a shaker around the house so I made one out of a medicine bottle, cocoa pops and sugar. The drum was a big cardboard tub with a plastic lid. haha. Seems really odd. If anyone wants to put a harmony on top you are more than welcome!
A little ditty I recorded a while ago but never uploaded. I wanted to create an odd but beautiful harmony and this is what I came up with. 10 tracks of voices, 2 shaker tracks and 2 tracks of drumming (the back of a guitar). Enjoy!
I wish somebody would help me turn this into a duet by singing one of the melodies. There are two versions resourced below, each without one of the vocal melodies so you can take your pick which vocal track you would like to sing. The lyrics are also resourced below.
My first official Accordion Record! Written 1/11/11
If you like this, please check out version 2 that I recently recorded. http://hitrecord.org/records/629281
I've been planning on re-recording this and making it better for a while now. Glad I finally did it. Hope you guys like this version :)
This is the first song I ever posted on HitRECord before I even wrote music. That was about 3 years ago, so I decided to re-create it, and add some piano at the end.
http://www.hitrecord.org/records/8836
It's been a while since I've written a piano song. I forced myself to make the only instrument the piano, because I feel like sometimes I get carried away. Hope you all like it!
I’m releasing this remix on my one year anniversary of being on hitRECord, and I find it fitting that it would be this record in particular since it’s a great example of why I HITrecord. It gives me the chance to take great records from talented individuals like Wirror, Metaphorest, Megancames, PASIV; and do whatever I want with them till my heart’s content. Thanks for the resources!
Thanks to MattConley’s recent RE-RECommendation collab. A number of contributions shined a light on this series of recorders that I found amazing based around the “Atom Song”. I liked them so much I wanted to combine them and make a new mix. Enjoy!
Here is my first stab at remixing Joe's performance at BFI. A big thanks to everyone that REcorded the performance.
I love how chill Make Space for Me in Your Coffin sounds slowed down. I had to give it a hip-hop remix. Enjoy!

Second track off of 'Spilt Milk'. Have at it!
lyrics:
Nothing like a good ol' beating
to make a proper fool out of me
I've taken a torch to everything i own
and shamed my family.
I keep a will in my back pocket.
Another one is tucked in my boot.
And if you're lucky enough to see me coming,
don't hesitate before you shoot.
But I'm gonna go to church on sunday.
Make a proper fool out of me.
Lord, let me make it to sunday.
To wash all of my sins clean.
I'm gonna disappear in the evening.
Take flight before the sun bleeds.
And don't ask the sky for no reason,
or shake me down by my trail of rosary beads.
There's nothing you can pray I aint prayed for
nothing you can say I aint heard
no morning I don't wake up shaking
God damn I hate that mocking bird.
But I'm gonna go to church on Sunday
-make a proper fool out of me.
Lord, let me make it to Sunday
to wash all of my sins clean.
This is our musical effort at the Man with a Turnip for a head. Hope you enjoy.
By Chris Mears & Chris Pedley from accross the pond in Old Blighty.
i've been wanting to do this for awhile. hope you like it :)
So my little brother asked me to arrange a piano duet of Greensleeves for us to play for the family on Christmas (I know, how cuuuuuuute). It's nothing particularly innovative, but here ya go.
Once upon a time I did music for a short film called "Funny Business" and realized that I never gave anyone the exclusive rights to it and could upload it on here. Oh happy day!
Wrote music for a short film awhile ago, realized I could legally upload it on here, huzzah.
another song about the death of a fictional character.
Been awhile since I've done one of these.
I don't know about you, but my daydreams are decidedly Beethoven influenced.
Decided to give you guys another EP track to play with :)
When composing this one, I had a favorite quote of mine in mind: "Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today." -Lawrence M. Krauss
I pictured an old man, living as a hermit in the forest. He is walking through the forest at night. He is very weak. He lays down on the forest floor and dies. Little specks of glowing stardust begin floating off his body into space, until none of his body is left. It has all gone back to the stars.

This is the score I wrote for a short animated film called "Cupid." Figured you guys could use parts of it or the whole thing for videos or something :D
Made this for a movie I'm working on, figured you guys could use it as well! (I wish that was me playing. I cheated and used MIDI. But then I made it sound real, so that's something!) It's in the public domain.
This piece is beautiful. I freaking love it.
I was in the middle of finals when I released the messed up version. Forgive me?
A new ditty i've been trying to finish uploading here for others to use.
A piano played a little melody and began to stutter. After he gets angry, he calmed down. Hard to explain what is in my mind, sorry :P
Albert was looking for vocals for some of his tracks with lyrics on the theme of depression. So here's what I've come up with using his excellent track '23-bass riff'. I looped it, added a vocal line or two and some weird ambienty sounds. Hope ya like it Albert!
Oh and my headphones are busted so sorry if the mix sucks - I can upload stems if you like it!
The air is my enemy
the sun comes up without me
the minutes pollute my lungs
and dull my mind and tie my tongue
pit of my stomach churning coal
my soul is old
my soul is cold
the ravens use me as their perch
call off the search
I'm in the earth
the mud is up to my chest
I only want to rest
my heavy eyelids turn me blind
I can't unwind the binds
Here comes the deluge
there goes my shortlived refuge
home is the dark days
I am the knot that frays
Added vocals to suzyrene's very remixable piano loop. I feel like I accidentally stole the melody from somewhere...and I think someone else's voice would suit this better - but anyway - here it is! Hope you like it, suzyrene!
Hello
So we meet again don’t ya know
Serendipity is saying let go
It’s a matter of dropping your defenses
Now’s the time for disposing of pretenses
If you wanna let big love in
I don’t mind
Why don’t you name the plan, the place and time
Whatever you decide is fine
It’s a matter of planting your feet firmly
It’s a case of expressing yourself early
If you wanna let big love in
I got scared
When I realised my soul was bared
You caught me kinda unawares
It’s a matter of facing your fears fiercely
It’s a case of allowing yourself to be
Open so you let big love in
A song about someone getting older and looking back.
Lyrics
Up in the attic is a faded photograph
of your wedding day
that's the way time goes these days
Out of your window is an unfamiliar scene
You remember when it was all empty and green
You remember when people said
exactly what they meant
You remember when a spade was called a spade
You remember when the universe felt young
and so did you
You remember when your love was fresh and new
Down in the basement is a box of broken dreams
Promises pulled apart, torn at the seams
Phantoms and ransoms you picked up along the way
In a life lived right, that's the price you've got to pay
You remember when people said exactly what they meant
You remember when a spade was called a spade
You remember when the universe felt young and so did you
You remember when your love was fresh and new
You remember when people said exactly what they meant
You remember when a spade was called a spade
You remember when the things you held onto were owned, not lent
You remember when the people you loved stayed
Wrote this one a little while back. Have at it! (Ps. Lawrie's making a video for it too but it might be a bit ropey public domain wise - so I'll upload it to my Facebook tomorrow. Yes, that's right I'm on Facebook :P)
Metaphorest wrote and recorded these brilliant vocals from a song I had called Dial Up. this is the offical version of the song.
it is now, because she completely killed this track. so do something nice for yourself and check out her page.
http://www.hitrecord.org/users/Metaphorest
Keep it on the down low
I’ve gotta stop this download
The terrabytes are biting
Whoa – our connection is gonna blow
Now we better back up
Fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
Come on baby back it up
This fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
Running out of disk space
You’re all up in my network place
My files are overwriting
Whoa – our connection is gonna blow
Moving moving so fast
Don’t break the spell we cast
Whoa – our connection is gonna blow
Now we better back up
Fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
Come on baby back it up
This fast love’s not enough
Do it like dial up
Here is a pretty poppy song that Metaphorest wrote the lyrics for. I couldn't have finished it without you Sarah, so thank you very much for helping out. :D
--UPDATE--
Thanks. Well, I had the music track sitting, collecting dust on my computer with my mumbly vocal idea for about a year or so. I really wanted to finish it, but I often struggle with writing lyrics. Metaphorest is a pro at writing and I asked her if she would like to help me out with the words. I gave her the track and named it, and she returned with the lyrics that fit the title magically. She can tell you more on what she thought would work for the song lyrically too im sure.
I played with syllables/timing and moved a few things around a bit so everything fit into the melody I had in mind. And thats basically it. No other records were used. I will upload the stems soon too. :)
-The Morning Hollows (Matt)
Here is a Halloween-y Haunted Burton Mansion tune. Can be used for the intro video if it works out for anyone. It can be looped pretty easily, so it should fit to whatever lenght you need. :)
A short dance track I put together using some piano, bass and drums. Kind of how I imagine Daft Punk would sound if the power went out. It could use some vocals, or maybe some other instrumentation. Or maybe it's fine as it is. You probably wont be able to hear most of the intro if you're listening through laptop speakers.
An Instrumental i wrote and recorded for a film that never came out.
it was recorded as a Drums/Piano/Bass Trio and then overdubbed with some synths and percusion.
Hope it will find its way to a better use here on HitRecord : )
Credits :
Piano, synths and percusion - Adi Drucker
Drums - Yaniv Rozenfeld
bass - Oran Ziv
Recorded & mixed by Erez Caspi at Bardo Studios, Israel
Pamagotchi knocked it out of the park, it's just so beautiful. I hope this adds to the song, I didn't want to get in the way of it.
Added some acoustic guitar, bass, drum stick and bells.
I've been playing around with this theme for years, and I've finally made it a song.
I know I'm late... but I just like discovered Joe's song "Words We're Wailing", watching the videos from the last shows. Poignant.
Either way, I hadn't originally intended to put vocals at the beginning of this. But after one too many frustrating takes, I just ended singing to calm down. And I decided to keep it with the piano rendition that followed. Enjoy the arrangment.
So today is the wonderful LydiaSaskia's birthday! She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met...So, I put together a nonsense little ditty to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
Happy Birthday Lydia! Hope you had a wonderful day!
<3 <3 <3
PS: Yup, definitely sounds like i am saying L-I-D-I-A...but I promise, I was saying L-Y-D-I-A!!!
PPS: So...maybe I said L-I-D-I-A a couple of times....>.<
I thought this could continue the group singing trend of HitREcord...we could get a whole crew of people singing this...maybe some instruments..this is just an idea for a simple melody!
So, yeah, take this, record harmonies, instruments, more clapping, more singing!
This is my new mantra ^__^
<3
Keeping it smoothed.
Used Ozie's beautiful instrumental to do a recording of a tiny song of Reverie's tiny story.
<3
"Well, look who I ran into"
Smirked Coincidence all smiling.
"Please," scoffed Lady Fate
"Honey, this was meant to be,
Honey, this was meant to be"
Continuing my journey through unchartered musical territories...
This sort of happened by accident..when you've got one thing playing on iTunes and one thing playing in a browser.
So yeah, decided to play with it..me rapping is hilarious but oh well! ^__^
<3
Playing around with wirrow's "it's a wonderful life" and Megan Carnes "The Scar"
Things are getting a bit pop-y.
<3
Happy Valentine's Day Reverie!
I really wish I could play instruments, cos this sounded so much grander in my head...but I wanted to write you a dreamy [to tie in with your name], pick me up, to remind you that you always can do whatever you want. Never stop believing, there are a lot of people wishing you along the way! <3
Wish on a star and dream a dream
And on this February 14th
Be who you were born to be
Colour in your own map don't follow anyone else's
The signs are clear have no fear you'll find out what's best
It's you, you, dream a dream for you
Make up your mind
And follow what you think's right
You'll find it smiling, clear to see
The time is right for you to shine Reverie
Knit the words together and make a story
With Kings and Fate and Sideways Eights
And it will never get boring
Cos this is you, you you a dream a dream for you
Make up your mind
And follow what you think's right
You'll find it smiling, clear to see
The time is right for you to shine Reverie
A sad love song...I would love if people could add to this, maybe sing alternate verses, add harmonies, more instruments..i think this could sound lovely with strings or another guitar/piano melody
<3
Lyrics:
Took a map and trampled out my way
I told you I was waiting there for you
Waiting there for you
And you said
You're just an island in the sea
Rootless, homeless
Longing for some company
But you and I we're never meant to be
Cos lovers are just friends with the lights turned out
And home is just a feeling that will pass
And feeling low's just the other side of a delirious high
And love was never built to last
You'll be the end of me
As long I hear whispers only one thing
My heart will hear the other
It will say
"You're tired now..sleep
The time has come to choose
Either way
I know my heart will lose
Cos lovers are just friends with the lights turned out
And home is just a feeling that will pass
And feeling low's just the other side of a delirious high
And love was never built to last
I really love "crashing" by wirrow, and it inspired me to make this tiny song... (I know my pronunciation sucks but I trust you still understand :D) Enjoy<3
Lyrics:
This is it, we're on the edge of everything
We ran so fast we didn't see it coming
We kept on making lies, it was easy to believe in them
Now it's the time to pretend we didn't se it coming
This is it, we're on the edge of all we know
We didn't look back when we could, and now we can't
We kept on making promises, and we kept on breaking them
Now we're gonna pretend we didn't see it coming
Ladies and Gentlemen, we're crashing. Please enjoy the ride.
I really love joe's Nothing Big (who doesn't) so I wanted to make a (silly) cover of it... the lyrics are amazing!
at first I wasn't gonna upload this here, but looks like I did anyway... well, I had fun recording this version anyway! :D I like to make covers that are very different from the original! :P
Enjoy<3
I'm not really sure where this came from. I started messing around with garageband aand well, this is what happened :D
it would be super awesome is someone would play this with real horns!
Enjoy :))
Yet another past Logic doodle that's been discovered, forgotten. I still like the piano riff (gonna make this a legit song sometime haha). Again, just a recurring melody that builds and decays...
PLEASE- SOMEONE with a decent drum-recording kit track some better drum parts to this! I beg you! I just threw in a rough and simple beat I made in Logic... If you need the song without the drumline, in order to track your own, let me know.
Have fun collab! ;)
When I was done writing these words, (finished it on my birthday) it seemed to me like a sort of tavern sing-along. So here's the bottom layer. Now I'd love to hear what y'all add to it.
Sing along with the chorus! Or sing along with any part of it you see fit. Play along on another guitar. Acoustic, electric, the chords are just the same old ones: G C D and Em. It definitely needs bass for at least part of it. Perhaps a drum set, although I think even more fitting would be less formal percussion. Clink bottles together, stamp your feet, knock on wood, etc. And who knows what else? Piano, fiddle, Moogs, shit, the more the merrier.
When you upload your new layer, make sure you release it as an isolated stem (in other words, by itself without any other records mixed in), so we can remix it together with all the others. Here I've released a full version as an MP3 file for listening, and also uploaded a ZIP file with stems. So, if you want us to listen to your addition in combination with all the others, you can upload that version, just make sure to also upload the isolated stem(s), either as audio files or a ZIP file.
Also, when I first wrote this and released the lyrics, and then a GarageBand recording of it, I was happy to see that quite a few hitRECorders recorded various versions of their own. LizzieMackie and Metaphorest made a beautiful one, as did TongueCutSparrow and others too. So here I hope to start a definitive bottom layer for the purposes of mass sing-along, but that doesn't mean those other excellent versions will be forgotten :o)
The rhyming creation myth by wirrow and Metaphorest. I tweaked the words just a little, and my draft of the text is resourced below. And here I recorded a reading of it. There's already been lots of great readings of this poem, and I hope there are more to come. I think it might be cool to mix a grand multitude of voices together to tell this story.
The next thing that probably ought to happen is for visual artists to start drawing specific parts. Pick a stanza you like, or even just one line and turn it into any sort of image. Maybe pretty soon we could have a bit of a storybook slideshow going, which is usually an important step in big animation projects.
Lava Tornado made music. RayPerez sampled it and rapped over it. I added some drums, sang along to a hook, and yes, dropped a second verse.
Hip hop is so conducive to hitRECord, or perhaps hitRECord is conducive to hip hop. Either way, if we can do something this good without even trying, imagine what we might make when we try again! Whether it's a new song, or another remix of this one.
I also recorded video that'll sync with the drums and the hook vocals. Get that shit up soon, son. And I'll put a zip file up too that should have all the raw audio etc...
Little song I wrote and RECorded this morning-after-xmas. It's a genuine question, I still don't know...
Me again! Hehe. This is another minimalist study based on taking a simple rhythmic figure and developing as much as possible. Each time it comes around, something's added to it, until in the end it blows up and goes crazy! =) Have fun with it!
while working on a REmix of "the prize," i got this riff in my head. so i put prize on hold and worked on this.
sampled a bit of Lava Tornado and another tasy find from GwenInterrupted's trusty loop collection.
Guitar, Bass, Arrangement ~ meeeee
rather than sit around with it, i'm sharing it in its "rough draft" state. or whatever.
i'd love to get someone doing a nice hip hop flow to it. or something of that nature.
tbc.
this is why i hit RECord.
<3
This RECord can now be heard on the HitRECorderly #3 Vinyl (released Summer 2012) as "Diamond in the Rough"
check it out here:

a big thanks to Pamagotchi for showing me this RECord, which inspired me to REmix, just in time for Halloween :)
REmix production, Harmony vocal, Bass, Acoustic guitar, Organ, Tambourine: meeeeeeeeeeeee
Happy Halloween HitRECorders!

Sarah & Lizzie's song transferred from HitRECord RECollection 45RPM Vinyl, slowed down to 33RPM
added a little synth part to wirrow's reading.
I don't know what to say about htis one. I don't really know how to write music that well but I think I may have stumbled onto something cool with this one. Or maybe it's horrible and this will get deleted off the site.
It could use some vocals. Also it could use a good mix down. If anyone wants the stems for remixing just let me know and I'll put them up.
The song consists of ukulele, toy piano, xylaphone, harmonica and an acoustic guitar used as a bass.
A pretty straight foward song. Needs some vocals though.
It's a Christmas Song! Kind of...Thanks to Kat and Shugs for the music, and Reverie for the first verse :)
La Letra:
[Outside there is a blizzard, the nighttime's droning on
The wind will soon be blowing in an icy, chilly dawn
There's no cold to be felt, although, despite the frozen storm…
Because I’m sitting with you. And you keep me warm.] - Reverie's bit
Been waiting for your plane to come, been waiting half a year
It didn’t feel like Christmas until you came home my dear…
So I'm calling in a snow day- I’m not leaving this hotel
You’re my favorite part of winter, you remind me of the bells.
So let’s drink from the bottle and we’ll whine about our schools
We’ll eat a billion Red Hots and pretend we’re really cool
We’ll fog up all the windows drawing portraits on the glass
And sleeping’s not an option til the bells strike up for Christmas mass...
And I think you know I love you even though it goes unsaid
I see you once a year but you are always in my head
And I’m too scared to ask if you’re in love with me as well
So I treasure every moment up until we hear the bells…
Ok, so I made this track, added the drums, bass, guitars, but that's all i could do. My mind just stopped working. So I figured why not let other awesome hitRECorders do the rest?
So the track is called "The Secret". Its just a title I came up with while listening to it, we'll change it later on once its complete. Its made up of 4 layers.
1) Piano 1
2) Drums
3) Bass
4) Piano 2
Musicians:
Just listen to the track, and add ANYTHING you think suits the music. Guitars, synths, harmonicas, heavy electric guitars, harps, vocals, ANYTHING! Just make sure that when you add the new layer, release it as a RECord mixed with this track, but also as a seperate STEM so it can easily be mixed.
Check the STEMS of this track once they're uploaded. I've also included sheet music for both Piano's, cuz it'll just sound 100 times better if anyone can play them with a REAL piano, as the ones on this track are from a VST.
Writers/Lyricists:
Your lyrics don't need to be on a specific theme, such as "The Secret". Don't keep the title in mind when writing, just write about anything you think suits this type of music, anything you want to write about.
Track details are:
KEY: G Major/ E Minor
Signature: 6/4 at 170BPM
I hope this works out well, really excited how it'll turn out.
This is a song I wrote, performed and recorded for an album I released last September entitled "What Animates You". I am especially interested in a music video collaboration for this song.
lyrics:
Blame it on the green light
you're turning me on
blame it on the yellow light
when you start to yawn
yeah you just yawn
what's going on?
you always yawn
what's going on?
Blame it on the red light
when you say good night
can't forget those good nights
can't forget those good nights
on the road
you're so nice to know
Is it you inside my head?
is it you or what mama said?
am i mislead
by your color changing eyes?
They say it's time for bed
and I can't sleep here tonite
but thats alright
Blame it on the red light
when you say good night
can't forget those good nights
won't forget those good nights
on the road
you're so nice to know
a lil' background for the Road collab: the song was started on a long car drive home from an unrequited love situation (traffic light idea). The twist here is that where once I was hung up by a situation like this ("whoa is me"), now I felt at peace. It literally was like "well good night", I got on the road, and then just started feeling good like - "hey, she's really nice to know. I had a great time tonight regardless how it ended". life goes on.
so, that's the shift I try to convey in the chorus.
I tried the song in a couple of musical formats and thought I'd give it a shot with theTenant's inspiringly sweet tune and there ya have it
I loved, loved, loved this version of "my heart carries stones." The one thing I wanted to add though was that high note on the final two "my skin is tempered steel," lines. And that's all I added; everything else is the same.
This is an old Appalachian spiritual from the 19th century that's in the public domain. It sometimes goes by the name Down to the River, but the first written versions used valley instead of river, so that's what I did here. It was sung by slaves working the field and first appeared in a book of slave songs in 1867. suzyrene brought it to my attention on tumblr.
I love this song and added some oooohs over the verses. I think this is a great song to build on, and I would love to hear other voices on it +harmonies. It just begging for a whole chorus of people. I tried coming up with a harmony after I composed the ooooh harmony, but it wasn't working, so I figured I'd throw it out to you guys.
The lyrics - roughly - are below. I didn't deviate hugely, but they're not 100% accurate.
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Oh fathers let's go down
Let's go down come on down
Oh fathers let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Oh mothers let's go down
Come on down don't you wanna go down
Come on mothers and let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Oh brothers let's go down
Let's go down come on down
Come on brothers and let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Come on sinners and let's go down
Let's go down oh, come on down
Come on sinners and let's go down
Down in the valley to pray
As I went down in the valley to pray
Studyin' about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way
Ever watch a friend get their heart broken? It sucks. What can you do but be there for them through it and hope they can open themselves up to love again. This song's about that.
Years of dreaming
Love, it came true
Yet it left you
Out of the blue
Hours passing heal us
Many have professed
Still I hear pieces
Rattle in your chest
Hard hearts they twist us
Trust me, I know
Though it may cut you
Try to let go
So slowly lift
Your head up my dear
Brave anew those waters
And love will appear
Ok! I've been wanting to get this recorded for a while and here it is.
Figured someone could use this down the line on a video project of some sort!
It's not perfect but again, I'm no Beethoven!;)
*Music is part of the public domain.
Enjoy!
This beat was made from the car sounds I recorded that you can find in a ZIP file in the resources below. I just love environmental music!
Drum Kit: Volkswagon Jetta
90 BPM
A short original piano melody
A simple song and beat pattern.
Have lyrics of my own, but would love a collaboration for this one.
Left room for intro, 2 verses and a chorus and outro.
Have some fun with it, or just enjoy.
Thanks
Original pieace I put together.
Mix of piano, guitar, and a pipe sound.
i don't know where i've been
i can't recall if i'm wearing thin
i don't mind if i'm lost
i don't mind if i'm tired and frail and lost
i left a man in my wake
resented him for what he had to say
i don't mind that i'm alone
i don't mind that my heart, it carries stones
my heart, it carries stones
i told it all, unedited
i told it all like i remembered it
they interlocked and then they fled
and met again, but the love they'd made was dead
i am no historian
i'm prone to error in the records i give
i am proud of what i feel
i am proud that my skin is tempered steel
my skin is tempered steel
This is my original song and I think a little cartoon video to go with it would be just swell! This is my first upload to HitRecord so I'm very excited for all the possibilities this site has to offer! Thanks all!
Every musician that walks into the REC Room here at The Sundance Film Festival, we encourage to join humunkulus' Family Band Party Song by laying down a track that grooves to the beat.
We've recieved vocals, guitars, basses, piano parts and a didgeridoo!
Plus, eaneikciv wrote and recorded a verse here in Park City!
Here is version one, a temporary mix by JeffPeff that includs all the REC Room contributions thus far. We plan to add as many more resources as we can get so let's all jump in and RECord on the Family Band!
Kinda inspired by the flickering lights video, maybe.
Hey everyone! Metaphorest and I wanted to write a song together, and so here it is!
Lyrics
Too long do I wait for the sun,
To lift me from my bed,
And yet, I know it soon will show,
And shut my eyes instead,
Too long do I wait for a sign,
To give meaning to my day,
So I sit inside and swallow my pride,
And waste the day away,
Too long have I bore such a load,
That sits upon my chest,
But the day I'm free will surely be,
Among the very best
if I lie oh so still
and don't make a sound,
how long would it take
to be part of the ground?
would the earth open wide
and swallow me whole
or slowly surround me
a quilt for the cold
would a blanket of moss
start to grow at my feet?
creep over my legs,
my navel, my cheek.
and delicate blooms
sprout from my fingertips
another seed falls
to rest on my lips.
a willow tree grows
from the base of my spine
its weeping limbs hang
with tears that are mine
my tangled hair painted
with green grass and dew
springs rush from my eyes
transforming my view
STEMS availabe in the results!

semi-crappy recording on my ipad using the fake guitar in the garageband app (which i pretty much hate) and my coffee table/trunk as drums. not sure how i really feel about this overall, but i'd love some visuals to go along with the lyrics if anyone's up to it :)
found this vocal RECording by riana6 (made about 3 years ago)
added some stuff :o)
enjoy <3
This is our version of this amazing song by Rianna Riggs "Pieces".
A friend asked me to make a waltz for a short film he did. I'm not very good at titles.
