This is the intro to the vinyl video I'm working on.
Check out the full version here http://hitrecord.org/records/479559
I actually have a request though. I want a bunch more videos of hitrecorders playing their records. You gotta show off your machine a little bit. Also I need a bunch more close up shots of records spinning on turntables. I wanna tighten up that intro a lot more with more videos. Also I think someone should take a crack at making a really cool title card that says "The Vinyl Initiative."
Watch this video for some requests and recommendations regarding the vinyl collab. http://hitrecord.org/records/472789
Anything helps. Just make sure you turn some lights on so your videos aren't so dark. :) Oh and export them into MP4's. Please. Please. Please.
Thank you.

i filmed the creation of my breakfast the other day :) my first attempt at filming + editing.
RegularJOE requested some visuals for this charming little tune, so I thought I'd step up to the plate! I had a lot of fun putting this together. If anyone wants to take this and re-REmix it, please do! :)
<3!
Low-res version. If by the off chance that someone wants the hi-res version, just let me know and I'll upload it.
I apologize for not getting this up earlier — apparently whatever bug on the site that was affecting videos on Friday and Saturday also wouldn't let me upload large ZIP files. But the bug is fixed and I got this up.
Sorry to everyone who already started working and had to rebuild all this stuff yourselves :(
The hitRECord revolution will now be televised.
Additional Notes:
My 2nd animation on hitrecord (in after effects). I know miss marielv uploaded a "way better" animation of this but hey thought I can do this to practise my newly acquired after effects skill. This version, I made the clouds flow continously like a river (after all joe is in a boat). This animation is about 1 min long and can be loop seamlessly over and over again. I didn't put any music because I thought someone can come out with a music loop or even a full composition.
PS: hmm maybe row your boat song collab might work for this, any thoughts? any other comments/critique?
idk if this is worth using....since this turntable has been re-purposed as a dream machine and therefore has no arm! it's also VERY dusty! ha! anyway, it turns. the record is "Harp by Harpo", btw, made in 1952!
A pencil sketch of Destiny from the MMM2 short film and a part of something bigger I have in mind of doing in the near future
First of all, I'm so sorry Lula! I FAILED so bad at drawing you! *head desk*
It has been some zillion years since I last drew with pencil on paper (I actually had to pop into an artist's supplies shop on my way home from work to buy a new set of drawing pencils because I couldn't find my old ones), and the fact that the only portrait I could draw that would actually resemble the subject is my own (I swear I'm not a narcissist) have made this a rather challenging piece to do...
Hopefully the next few pieces I wanted to do will be easier >_< *fingers crossed*
Its night and me, Sherbs, Meta and Moi are all drinking Rum and talking about art and we decide (at er 11 at night or something) to get outside and make a short film.
So we brainstormed, and shot video, acted, wrote, produced music and singing and make up and all sortsa thigns and then got the film finished!
Its a creepy little film that was made in complete collaboration and later versions (edited by others) and other bits and bops hopefully other folks will upload seperately. Feel free to add more to this film if you want guys - its ripe for remixing. Enjoy!)
Kinda inspired by the opening scene of wild strawberries http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3n4TxNeaPg and Lizzie Mackies beautiful music.
Perhaps somebody would like to write a piece that could be read over this?
I know Lawire has put this into his Spooky Little Film collab, but Phen's poem was the first thing that came to mind as I watched this...<3
I enjoyed RegularJoe's song and njtam's pencil animation so much that I wanted to put it on vinyl.
So...this is one of those stories that I was writing down in many different ways. Trying to be eloquent and instead became frustrated and decided to make a video to show you instead. Now that I think about it, it's probably easier just talking to a camera with shitty quality than staring at a blank piece of paper.
Please bare with me?
I just had to read it aloud!

This is a song I wrote as an intro for a short film a friend of mine is doing. I hope you all like it, it was a lot of fun to make

Two days, three sequences, ten sticky fingers and many, many jellybeans later... I can sleep! :-)
PS: If anyone feels like adding a little music to this, I would be muchly overjoyed!
A reading of this was requested from someone who wants to do a sign language interpretation. So I read it. Btw, I'm growing quite fond of "blue dildo." It sounds like a raunchy country song. :D

I've been working on this piece for about a week. This is too large to fit on my scanner, so it's missing a lot of detail to the left and right. It's far better quality (and better detail) than the full version resourced below, though. It's a donation for an art auction to a theatre company here called Vile Passeist who produce non-Shakespearean plays of the Elizabethan and Jacobean era. They're doing a production of a play called Bartholomew Fair. In the play, there's a scene where puppets claim they can't be charged with lewdness because they have no sexual organs. Har!
It was quite the experience to work slowly on something. My stuff is usually intricate, but I still work on stuff in one or two sittings. This was probably about 15 hours all-told. It was also a little nerve-wracking to know that I couldn't correct any mistakes in Photoshop, and that it had to be good to be worthy of an art auction!
