This is nicole.c.silver's picture - The reflection from the clouds captured in this photo - absolutely magnificant!! I wasn't so worried about keeping the person or trees sharp/clear so much because I wanted to exemplify the water also allowing that to be the ceter of attention. I mainly left the photo black & white with a splash of color left on the reflection and a bit of "reflective color" on the person.
It's beautiful - thank you nicole.c.silver
I love how Cinnamon titled her photo as perfect ending because this photo captures that magical feeling to a wonderful ending...with a new beginning just ahead. What I immediately noticed was the arch of the clouds hovering over "the edge of a magical kingdom". To illuminate the clouds was key into drawing your eyes to that "kingdom". Beautiful job Cinnamon! Thank you.
It is Morocco, the smell of the sea and the taste of Tagine still on the tongue while the day takes leave. Walking on the beach the pinks, blues, and purples marbling the sky as the sun bids adieu. The beauty all around causes smiles, a couple locked in embrace upon the jetty, young men play football on the sand, and the gentle hum of Gnawa music fills the background during a leisurely stroll on the beach. A second coming that brings memories of the past; this is a path trodden once more, and a heart revisited. The mind wanders to the past and memories meld together; the past and present, the old and new, a gentle stirring of the pot of life. Eyes opened to a beach the same, yet different with the passing of time. The memories slowly fade, the present all that is left but what time to be, as the sun sets beyond the sea and a chilly wind pushes all back towards home. This is a beautiful, majestic place filled with people who love and are loved; a place that is worth returning to because it is like home.
It had been a gloomy, grey day. A long day at work, and my spirits were low. In the evening I went for a walk in the park, expecting nothing more than a bit of fresh air.
But the clouds had thinned, and as I looked over the bay, sunlight broke through. Suddenly the day was beautiful.
And I felt that I started to heal. Truly heal. Until that day I had just covered the wounds, pretented to be happy. Tried to forget all the hurtful things.
It wasn't a very special day in general. There are more beautiful and more memorable days. But for me it was a turning point. There was no explanation for it. Maybe I just was finally ready to heal.
And a not very special day was etched into my memory for the rest of my life.
Sunset - THE SEQUEL. :D This photo was right before hurricane Irene. And this one is the day after.Â

The fog was so dense it was like clouds had fallen, but thats ok because my head's usually in the clouds anyway. |

Hey Saintmaker,
You're picture is sooo beautiful. The colors just pop and I'm in love with this picture. I wanted to straighten it out so as to crop the pictures and highlight the sky while filling in some more light.
This looks like a painting, in fact, I think I'll paint this on canvas. Thank you for the inspiration!!
